If you still didn't like it, then I guess you didn't like it.
I agree a lot of my friends said they didn't like the movie because it wasn't scary enough and was nothing like the previews. I told them this movie isn't suppose to be a horror movie. I enjoyed this move and I wasn't expecting a horror or anything I was just expecting a good movie and liked what I watched.

      Re: Shutter Island

That wasn't why I didn't like it. I had read the reviews before seeing it stating that it wasn't a horror movie, I wouldn't have gone to see it if it was a horror movie. The fact that it was a suspense/mystery/thriller is what got me in the theater (that and the wife really wanted to see it).

But like I said, there was no suspense or "thriller" aspect to it at all IMO. It was just a very boring and slow movie with a predictable ending IMO.

A great movie for any director not Martin Scorsese I'd say. For him it was pretty...alright.

I'm sort of confused by the "spoiler" rules here. The movie has been out for two weeks now. Why can I not talk about the plot? It's not like it's an advanced screening and I'd ruin something.

Haha I'm calm, I'm just trying to make sure that someone's eye catches my post before seeing the person's above mine if they scroll down far enough.

Anyway, I can see how it is a spoiler. Again, I said potentially.

Why would you be reading a thread of a movie that's been out two weeks if you HAVEN'T seen the movie? You should expect spoilers when clicking on it.

I don't know, in case you hadn't yet seen it and want to read impressions.

That's my reaction. I was expecting a truly mind blowing experience. It didn't suck me in and the backstory wasn't for me.

I'm confused on the true meaning of the ending, but oh well. I'm not gonna lose any sleep.

Yeah, I didn't feel entrenched in the movie at all. Like I mentioned above, I was never on the edge of my seat - or even really close to it.

Pretty disappointing for a Leo/Scorcese movie for the reasons stated above.

It was interesting but I can see why it came out in February and not December.
