I'm not going to embed it because I want to warn hip hop fans before they see. If you don't want to see the finals stab wound in the murder of a hip hop genre then don't click on this. I have firmly believed that hip hop has had a pulse for a few years now, but this is just painful.

Aren't the Jonas Brothers really popular? Listening to this hurt my ears, I don't see how they have fans. Common will do anything for a paycheck so I'm not too surprised to see him on it.

The problem is that you have a musical genre in constant battle to maintain artistic integrity. Its a musical genre that has been under fire for becoming all about money and losing the true essence of what it stood for. A musical genre that has been accused of being dead. Yet you have a group of rappers with talent who wanted to keep this essence and prevent what artists like Lil Wayne had become. And one of these rappers was Common. Yet, all of the sudden, after all of the posturing he had done for the genre he becomes the genre's biggest hypocrite and shows up on a f****** Jonas brothers song. This guy was one of the more respected MC's in the game, and to me at least, appearing on this song puts him below anyone that has ever used autotune, below Soldier Boy, below the people who sang "Who Let the Dog's Out," below Tom Green's bum bum song. What he did was like Peter Tosh doing a song with Milli Vanilli post lipsynching scandal. Its like Henry David Thoreau coming back to life and writing one of the Twilight books (well maybe not that bad). It is about a guy who has built his career by spouting off on maintaining the true essence of Hip Hop who then utterly crapped on what he claimed to represent by doing a song with a band that represented what he criticized. It is much more than a crappy song, it is a very respected artist becoming a complete hypocrite. I don't hate on people looking out for their own wellbeing and don't believe in the word "sellout." But when you make track after track defending a genre against so called sellouts, then follow in their footsteps times 100, you are more than a hypocrite.

The thousands upon thousands of little girls will go crazy for this one when the Jonas Brothers play at the new Texas Stadium here shortly. Anything for a paycheck I suppose.
