If Joe was anything like they portrayed him in The Jackson's American Dream mini series then he was a lot like my dad who was hard on you, made you work hard and punished with a belt. Old school Filipino dad, and I'm sure that's how a lot of old school American dads were too.'
I know mine was.Don't get me wrong,alot of my friends thought he was the coolest dad on the block,and looking back at it now,he was. But he was one of those "you're gonna do it my way or else"type of dads. And when you didn't do it his way,you found out what the "or else" was,quick fast and in a hurry.
I think that's the problem with alot of these youngsters today,their parents aren't tough on them. I see some of the stuff these kids do now and the whole time I'm thinking "that wouldn't have went on in the house that I grew up in"

That's what I think of it. Pretty hilarious.
