Unfortunately an IP Ban is easy to circumvent as well. There is a good list of guys on here who have already been IP Banned and are back.

Jackson was part of a culture that chewed him up and spit him out since he was 10 years old. He never knew what normal was. It's not surprising the freak show that he became and his downward spiral over the past 15 years or so. It wasnt surprising to hear of his death at 50. Sullivan's point that Michael Jackson died a while ago seems poignant.

Police looking for the doctor, TMZ is breaking it again. Supposedly the doctor gave a larger dose of Demerol than he should have.

Yeah, I do. I was nine years old. It was in Knoxville, TN. We didn't have the best seats, because there was 100,000 + people there. I remember that there was such anticipation before he came out, and of course he didn't come out on time (which is a common thing of course for concerts to build up the anticipation) but when he came out the place just erupted. Billie Jean was the song he came out with. The Victory Tour was comprised of all of his brothers as well, but everyone knew why they were coming to the concert. I remember that when it was over I was sad that it ended. Definitely the best concert I ever attended, and I have been to a lot during my lifetime.

Wow, if the doctor did it unintentionally I feel REALLY bad for him. The guilt must be overwhelming.

Reports have been out there that Michael Jackson never molested anyone and that the allegations were all attempts to extort money. He's always been quoted as saying children were the only people that ever told him the truth.

This isn't to excuse his odd behavoir, but to put it into some context. Realize what you are saying and understand there is more to every story.

The guy never, since the age of 5, lived a normal life. Was he odd......sure, but that doesn't disqualify his musical genius or lessen the unparalleled impact he had on the music world.

In short, keep the disparaging comments out of this thread and appreciate him for the lasting impact he had, and continues to have on the music world for the talent we were lucky enough to witness.
There are two things to say about him. He was a musical genius; and he was an abused child. By abuse, I do not mean sexual abuse; I mean he was used brutally and callously for money, and clearly imprisoned by a tyrannical father. He had no real childhood and spent much of his later life struggling to get one. He was spiritually and psychologically raped at a very early age - and never recovered. Watching him change his race, his age, and almost his gender, you saw a tortured soul seeking what the rest of us take for granted: a normal life.

But he had no compass to find one; no real friends to support and advise him; and money and fame imprisoned him in the delusions of narcissism and self-indulgence. Of course, he bears responsibility for his bizarre life. But the damage done to him by his own family and then by all those motivated more by money and power than by faith and love was irreparable in the end. He died a while ago. He remained for so long a walking human shell.

I loved his music. His young voice was almost a miracle, his poise in retrospect eery, his joy, tempered by pain, often unbearably uplifting. He made the greatest music video of all time; and he made some of the greatest records of all time. He was everything our culture worships; and yet he was obviously desperately unhappy, tortured, afraid and alone.

I grieve for him; but I also grieve for the culture that created and destroyed him. That culture is ours' and it is a lethal and brutal one: with fame and celebrity as its core values, with money as its sole motive, it chewed this child up and spat him out.

I hope he has the peace now he never had in his life. And I pray that such genius will not be so abused again.
              Great posts.

I don't see how that would result in certain death though. Jackson seemed to be heading this direction already.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

I agree too with the article. I see the Lawyer said he was going to die, if he was still on these meds. He said they were slowly killing him. This is going to be like another Elvis conspiracy.

Re: Michael Jackson has passed away

Still can't believe he is dead.

I got out of a meeting yesterday and saw a text from my fiancee that said he had died, then others in the office checked their phones and had the same text. I figured it was just one of those rumors that go around. So I hopped online before I left and saw he was rushed to the hospital. I figured he was sick, nothing serious. Walking to my car, my grandmother (yes my grandmother) calls me and said, did you hear Michael Jackson died, I told her I had he was rushed to the hospital, but didn't know that he had died. She said the local news broke in to say it. She gets his facts mixed up sometimes, so I still figured it wasn't true, radio stations, tv stations were reporting coma, not death... okay this is more serious now. Then, at the bottom of CNN, it changed from Coma, to dead and CNN started reporting it via LA Times... I just couldn't believe it.

It's crazy how we can get attached to someone famous that we never met, but through whatever contributions that have giving us, we feel like we know them. I've said it before, but Mike Tyson and Michael Jackson are two of the few celebrities I truly feel sorry for.

This will be the biggest celebrity death of my lifetime, probably my daughters lifetime as well.

It would be nice if a lot of artist all got together and did a tribute song for him. People he worked with and people who just loved his music.

                              Man...

I don't know what to say. I'm not really SAD because Mike hasn't really been in the forefront like that (and when he is, its the controversy that I didn't pay attention to no way). Also, because he was so brittle and frail, I never expected him to live to an old age.

However, the shock that an ICON like MJ is gone is unfathomable to me. I was born in the early 80s, so I remember MJ as a kid. I used to watch old Jackson 5 cartoons, old footage, and etc. I grew up on Michael Jackson like a lot of people my age and older. The man is the most famous PERSON in the world! I knew the day would come, but I never imagined I would see the headlines that Michael Jackson is dead.

He's the greatest entertainer of ALL TIME without a doubt. He will NEVER be surpassed.

                              RIP MJ

You know soon there will be posts and website of hidden meanings and messages in his songs. You know how that goes with someone that huge. So I might as well kick it off. lol. I notice he seems to use the number 40 a bit. Listen to Thriller and Billie Jean. I'm going to go through more of his songs and see if it pops up. When he had Neverland he had a security staff of 40 people.
