It will be varied obviously, but I think mostly for his musical talents, because there were ALOT more people that loved his music than those that believed the other things.

Both. He was so ridiculously talented that you have to lead with that, but his personal life was so ridiculously bizarre it has to brought up. He will be remembered for both.

As time goes on the personal things will fade further and further from everyones mind until all people talk about are his musical accomplishments. In reality I dont remember hearing much about his bizarre personal life recently as it is so with a few years to allow people to gain more and more appreciation for what he did musically I can only see the personal business being forgotten about completely.

In this country I think his personal life will unfortunately overshadow a lot of his artistic achievements because Americans are spoon fed by the media here worse than anywhere else. In the rest of the world I do think he will be remembered mainly for his music though, which is how it should be.

I think both things will play big roles in how he is remembered. I agree with The Chef, though. Over time, the music will be what he is remembered for more, though his personal antics will also always be remembered.

I hope it's music. While I haven't really cared to follow what has gone on in his personal life, his music was genius pop. I was born in 1981. When I was a little kid, I freaking loved the Thriller album so much. Just this past weekend I was looking at old pictures at my parents' house. There's one of me at about age 5 sitting by our old stereo system listening to Thriller on big 80's headphones. My parents got so sick of it, they'd make me listen on headphones. Then there was the picture of me dressed up as Michael Jackson for Halloween when I was 6. Hot.

I was out on the town earlier tonight and all I heard on every jukebox was old school Michael Jackson. Although my musical tastes have changed over the years, I still can't help but dance to Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.

EDIT: Almost forgot about the videos that exist of me and 3 of my friends pretending we were in a band and fake playing instruments and lip-synching to "Black or White". You know that got busted out at our high school graduation parties.

For me it will be the music. Outside of the the child molestation charges. I don't visit TMZ, Perez Hilton, Entertainment Tonight, so all that other stuff I never really paid attention to.
