Locke's toughts happened off the island..and he died? Thats why I say its a hole. I don't see how you could see the past of something thats dead....logically.....I can on the other hand read the thoughts and past of someone who is alive.

I need more time to absorb everything but my prediction of the ending of this show was just shot down tonight. I thought the final shot would be the Losties on the plane and not crashing down at any point. Basically what they did in the past helped them survive in the future.
Now we have 2 realities going on at the sametime. This is one big mind****. And to make me even more "lost", Desmond was on the flight back to LA while Shannon was nowhere to be seen. At this point I have no clue how this show is going to end.
I have to admit, I felt a little bit sad watching this episode. I will never get another Lost season premier again. I'm glad Lost was created after the invention of the internet. Reading other people's thoughts/blogs/podcasts have made this show more enjoyable to watch.Comment

A quick couple thoughts from the awesome premiere:
Since Juliet made some weird comments ("we should get coffee sometime" and something about touching), and yet also knew Sawyer's name and asked him to kiss her...maybe she approached some sort of singularity where both the pre-bomb timeline (her and James' relationship) and the timeline from the bomb working (she wouldn't know him at all) merged.
I loved the whole "chains" coming off of Richard. He had to be a facilitator of sorts for Jacob, forcing people to make their choices while never making any himself. After all, he was never the leader of the Others as far as we know. Now, he's lost like everyone else.
Also, it looked like Ben was back to his scheming self at the end.
I still think it'll be some sort of epic Jack/Locke showdown on the island, and if Jack in the alternate timeline cures Locke I'm going to struggle picking my jaw up off the floor.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

I usually wait to post my thoughts halfway through the season and I think i might have to pop in with my thoughts. So after ONE episode, I'll refrain and let the show "come to me" LOL because there's a lot going on and I have some theories but could be either right or wrong.Comment

One thing that comes to mind watching this season and the introduction of the "flash sideways" is the movie Sliding Doors. Anyone who has seen this movie can draw some comparisons as to what's happening right now with how they show the plane landing and how they are leading alternate lives. Both lives are bound to come together one way or another.Comment

If Sayid is Jacob reincarnated, it's worth noting that in that season 6 promo poster where they spoof the Last Supper setup, Sayid is representing the role of Judas. That didn't really make sense to me until I saw Sayid wake up at the end of this episode.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

After the opening scene, I might have turned it off if it hadn't been Lost.
The entire thing has nothing to do with the survivors and everything to do with Jacob and MiB. It is a game, for whatever reason, and they keep playing it. They cannot harm each other, but want to. MiB seems to be trapped on the island, while Jacob can leave. The game has rules, such as black ash, etc. MiB wants to get into the temple, who knows why though.
Richard still hasn't been explained and the chains comment lost me. I don't think it meant that he was a servant of Jacob as there wasn't any harsh feelings to him.Comment

The chain comment confused me for a second, but it dawned on me Richard might be a slave or worker that was on the Black Rock and once they explained his story, we'll just have to wait and see.
I just saw Jimmy Kimmel and it was funny to see the audience get upset when Damon and Carlton spoiled info from the season premier when I think they hadn't seen it, because they tape the show in the day and they hadn't yet seen it. Those people got a free spoil and some were upset
Jimmy also asked them some interesting questions and one that caught my attention is when he asked about Jack's alcohol bottles he had with him. In the Pilot, he had one in his pocket, but Damon mention you'll find out why he didn't have one in this alternative live. I have a feeling, the events from the past DID change some of the lives of the Losties and that's why Christian's body wasn't on the plane...Comment

Great episodes, another huge mind trip. The plane scenes were interesting. Jack and Desmond's conversation seemed flipped from their first hatch conversation. Jack was the one wondering if he knew Desmond, and I thought Desmond was the one in the hatch who wondered the same about Jack.
Could they not get Shannon on the show, is that the reason she wasn't on the plane? I am not sure if there is more, but Desmond being on the flight seems to be the other "oddity". Not sure if Locke's story to Boone was true, or he was lying to either make himself feel better or to avoid embarrassment after originally being denied the opportunity to go on the expedition.
Jack's dad is still dead, but Hurley is a happy "lucky" guy. Jin and Sun seemed unchanged, but maybe we don't know enough yet. It's like some stories have changed, and some haven't. I am sure it is done to get us wondering, maybe I am missing something.
Sucks that Sayid seems dead, at least his old self.Wonder what is in the new temple that the MIB/smoke monster can't have? Seeing Ben and Richard ****faced after all of this is really awesome. No matter how this ends for me this is one of the greatest stories ever told, and just imagining all of the possibilities in really what has me captivated.
SpoilerMy wife thought she read that Juliette was to appear on 4 episodes. If so, I assume off the island? She says it did work, so does everyone who dies on the island get freed? I have no idea, but I wonder what the connection will be with the alternate timelines.Comment
