I actually thought the crying scene was well-done on her part... she was crying so hard that she could barely breathe, which I think is pretty realistic given the circumstances. But yeah, she's still the worst actor in the ensemble.

Another great episode. I don't mind all the relationship stuff I guess... good way to break up the main story so it doesn't progress at an unrealistic pace.

Imagine trying to act something like that out, That has got to add at least a Million to your contract.

Personally I like where this season is going, I was getting sick of Dexter always on the verge of getting caught then somehow getting out of it. That does add excitement to the story But im glad they are pitting two serial killers against each other.

All I know is that the end of this season will be CRAZY. No way they wrap this up without some crazy crap going down... like "10x as intense as the scene with the cop in the bathroom" type of finale.

all of you who think there is too much relationship drama in this show are ridiculous. its what makes this show have all its charm. If it was just another serial killer hacking through people every week, it would be just like the garbage Hollywood tries to funnel us EVERY movie. Rita is a very endearing character, and yes at times she is annoying but what spouse (male or female) isn't? Personally this show would struggle without Rita, she just adds the human element to this show to realize you are still watching actual human beings who aren't involved with the police force. These are NORMAL reactions from normal people

That's what gets me excited about the adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire next year, both networks seem to get great acting and casting for all their shows.

Any idea how many episdoes are left? I mean, next week he basically comes into contact with the Trinity Killer. I would imagine something crazy happens at the end of that episode and will be picked up in the following one. But if he kills Trinity in the next couple episodes then where will this season end up?
This was the fifth of twelve, so there's seven to go. A very abbreviated synopsis of episode #8 reads, " Dexter questions his father's code and seeks answers on a road trip with Trinity".
It appears that Dexter has befriended Trinity and has gained his trust, but who knows? It might be a struggle for each man to resist trying to kill the other.

I put possible spoiler in bold so it was clearly there. Sorry about that though. I fixed it thanks to your help.

I disagree-her character is 90% adrenaline and 10% Red Bull, so what may sometimes appear as overacting is just a good characterization of a high strung person. Of course even if you disagree with me, does anybody want Debra off the show?

A little evolution of her character would be nice. Deb is passionate, swears a lot, all her relationships end in disaster (or death). Okay, move along.

The Rita relationship stuff is necessary to the show. The Deb/Angel/Laguerta/Quinn stuff comes across as filler. Much like 24, the B-stories in Dexter aren't terribly compelling.

the office interaction is great, it's the romance stuff that needs to be rethought. Quinn and his eager beaver reporter are dull and a total waste not even worthy of filler, and Maria and Angel have no chemistry. Deb and Lundy were ridiculous.
