How about you acknowledge I didn't actually have anything in my post worth you "high horsing" me about? or is it unreasonable for you to respect others in the first place and not start a snit over your hangups?
I agree with their basic premise (I usually skip the previews at the end when I'm DVR'ing), but IMO you weren't spoiling anything...you said nothing that referenced spoilers and (also IMO) it's not a spoiler to imply that storylines continue. If you'd referenced specific episode plot points it'd be a spoiler.

It's like How I Met Your Mother, how are we supposed to discuss a show without wondering if someone could be Ted's future wife? I understand the desire for no spoilers, but I don't think he was out of line here...

ZOMG storylines continue to evolve episode to episode, the show is ruined!

Exactly my feeling as well. He didn't say anything that was a legimate spoiler.

Well, anything that hasn't happened yet is, IMO, a spoiler. That includes previews.

You did. I don't want to find out what's going to happen in the next, unaired, episode until I'm watching that episode. Also, I wasn't "high horsing" you. It was a simple request, which I wasn't going to follow up on because usually, everyone understands why it makes sense. I'm not the only one who shares this point of view, either, so it's not like I'm "crazy" like you have implied in your responses.

Keep in mind that I never said you spoiled anything. I simply said that I agree we put spoiler tags in case something does get spoiled.

And as for my example, all I was simply saying is here's what happens:

A question is asked on the show, and the guy may answer and even lock in. Then they'll go "We'll find out how he did... after the break!" Then before commercials they'll say, "Coming up after the break..." and they'll show clips of the guy continuing on. Perfect, so now we know he got it right. Why the suspense before that then? Doesn't make any sense. That's all I was saying.

I'm not going to post spoilers around everything I post, just in case you think it might be a spoiler. That's just goofy pandering to an extremely delicate sensitive mindset. I have in the past used spoilers when I thought it correct to do so and will continue but not when it's a comment like I made in the first place.

Your solution would be to just skip my posts or block me if it means that damn much to not risk hearing the show continues next week.

Did you just read my post? I just said that what was said wasn't a spoiler, saying that "the show continues next week." Granted, I'd rather go in completely blind, but what was said wasn't a spoiler. I just said that I agree with the other poster in that I don't watch the previews, so if possible I'd like some sort of warning before someone starts speculating on things based off previews, that's all.

Sorry that I'm sensitive... I'd rather not know what's going to happen next. It's kind of why I watch the show in the first place. This is how I stated it near the beginning of this thread:

I don't watch previews for the next week's episode because I don't want to get spoiled. I don't understand why there are previews anyway. One should already know they're going to be interested in the next episode if they're interested in the show as is. I can understand reminders, but not the entire plot. Anyway, I was just simply requesting that we have ultra spoilers (warnings about preview spoilers/predictions based on previews) for things that are going to happen in the future, because I suppose I want to know as little about what's coming up in the show (factually) as possible.

                Thanks.

Yea, I don't get the issue. It's a pretty simple request, it's easy to do, and it is pretty much the courteous thing to do.

For as much of a big deal as this has been made, it is easier to just put spoiler tags on things based off of previews. (And it isn't anywhere near as rare request as it has been made out to be).

It's not like anyone comes to this thread before they have watched the episode and then cries foul because people are discussing what happened that week.

The point was I was request to put spoilers on something that wasn't a spoiler and that request didn't and never will make sense to me.

Blzer...Sorry, but I took your argument to be that you AGREED that I had spoiled something. I wasn't arguing against spoilers just the request that what I said needed to be in one.

I guess I misunderstood you then because when you claimed it "seemed silly" that some wouldn't watch previews because they didn't want to spoil next week's events you couldn't understand that viewpoint and basically didn't care that much that others wanted to avoid them.

I don't have a problem with previews on most networks, but FOX's are the worst.

                        No, you didn't misunderstand me.

Though I have not spoiled anything, I still think the request to not discuss previews/commercials is still goofy. Entire threads here are started on the viewing of just THE preview (moreso in movies but entire TV series seasons as well). To expect everything to be spoilered for the whims of folks who have artistic/philosophical qualms with info used by the companies to sell their product is asking the larger group (people how have seen the preview/commercial) to cater to the smaller group (those who take action to avoid them).

I wish I had a great metaphor to end this with but I just don't...crap.

And, like I said previously, I think you're actually the one in the minority here because you're the only person I've ever seen throw a hissy fit when one of these requests is made.

No its one of those cases where guys like me dont chime in because we dont want to get into a back and forth for no reason. I agree with deaduck for the most part. The guys who want spoilers are more vocal and the guys that dont care, well.... dont care so they arent going to speak up. I find it annoying to have to watch how i post because you dont want to be spoiled because we are talking about a preview. Either way im not going to lose sleep over it.

As always, feel free to discuss the episodes in real time as you're watching them. West Coast people should know by now not to come in and check the thread until they've seen the episode as there will obviously be discussion on it.

As for the upcoming episode and what you can/can't say about it...

If it's a specific "Oh my god can you believe this seems to happen next week" or "it looks like House is going to do this next week" it should go into a spoiler tag. I believe this is how it was handled for 24 in the most recent season and it seemed to work out well. It doesn't take much longer to put the spoiler tas around anything you have to say and it is annoying for people - especially fans of Fox shows - who don't watch the previews for the coming week to come in here and see things they don't want to know.

Now, I don't watch the previews, but that's because I watch House online later that night or the next day so they're not uploaded, but I don't switch the channel if, say, a House commercial pops up while I'm watching Fox during the week, but I'll try and avoid everything.

Now if its a: "I can't wait to next week to see if Chase gets in trouble" kind of comment, or a "I wonder how badly Chase/Foreman's relationship will be next week" kind of comment...obviously you won't need spoiler tags.

End of discussion (I believe), so let's try and stop the back-and-forth bickering and return to the awesomeness that has been this season of House so far.
