    NASA's Moon Crash Friday Morning

    Watching NASA's Moon Crash

NASA is planning to crash a rocket into the Moon's south pole to look for hidden water. The event is scheduled to occur this morning (Friday Oct. 9th) at 4:30am PT/7:30am ET and can be viewed lived on NASA TV, as well as on home telescopes. Doesn't this smack of the start of a SyFy horror film?

It seems stupid, but who am I to question NASA?

Re: NASA's Moon Crash Friday Morning

My wife had the Today Show on and as I'm walking out the door for work I see the live feed. There's a nice view of the moons surface and a countdown a few seconds away, so I wait for the big explosion.
Turns out the view was so far away that the impact was barely perceptable. A tiny spec of white that I wouldn't have noticed, if Matt Lauer hadn't directed where to look.

Wha, Wha, Wha! Oh, stop already. Actually, we're too insignificant to trash our planet. You can sleep better tonight knowing:

                      1. Polar ozone hole sizes are variable and cyclical.
                      2. There's more trees now than when our founding fathers came to this country.
                      3. The oil from the Exxon Valdez crash was broken down by the ocean and dispensed/consumed.
                      4. The planet is getting cooler, not warmer.

Wow DaFlyBoi, that was really rather ignorant.

First of all, I mentioned nothing about global warning. And if you think we are not "Trashing" this planet, then you have blinders on. We have decimated our oceans to the point where they support less than half of the sea life that they used to. Ever heard of the Grand Banks? Look it up.

We are not killing our planet, but we for sure our making it alot harder for us and other creatures to thrive in it. And if you think that is just random fluctuations, then I have a great piece of land to sell you...on a garbage dump.

Also dude of course the ocean can dissipate a large Oil Spill, but the direct damage that the oil did to all the creatures and animals in that part of the Ocean was absolutely terrible.

Cold dude. Get a bit educated before you go spouting off on things.
