my brother lives in new york and can't stand his at&t service he says it drops everywhere.

Its always funny when ever they start taking jabs at verizon there service starts to suck. that why they had to buy out the other cellphone company Cingular because they were killin there rep

It just sounds funny to me...I get how their network is better than it may seem, but just sounds funny.

It's kinda like saying "Our power company gives you power at a cheaper price, but it may cut out randomly and not work"...Or "Our car is more awesome, but it may not start sometimes, just beware"...you know?

I do seem to have calls dropping a lot more. I've been with AT&T/Cingular since I got a cellphone back when I was 18, so going on 11 years now.

Overall I've been satisfied with their service.

I have used data while on the phone lots of times. Comes in handy. I don't get hardly any dropped calls with ATT either. But their 3g coverage is awful. They need to do something ASAP about that !

Does the coverage really matter if Verizon is as slow as what ATT claims? ATTs non 3G coverage has decent speed. Although all I do is get on facebook and other mobile sites on my LG Vu.

3g speed varies depending on location, but Verizon has never countered AT&T's claim of supremacy in that area. They instead focused on providing consistent 3g to more people. Now we see AT&T trying to simultaneously advertise the coverage of the EDGE network while touting the capabilities of the 3G network.

AT&T and Apple both made commercials attacking Verizon's 3g network for not being able to do simultaneous voice and 3G data connections, but AT&T's EDGE network can't either. So if you can't get AT&T's 3g in your area, you can't do simultaneous voice and data either. That's why coverage matters, and why we get 30 days to try out a phone.
