 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I've got my Note 2 here now, and as a pretty big dude, this phone is perfect size-wise for me. I'm trying to gauge how this would look with another inch on it. It may be overkill, but I think there would be a good market for it. I don't think bulk will be the problem, though. First thing I noticed when I took my phone out today to get ready for work was how easily it fit in my slacks pocket; much easier than my EVO, which always felt bulky.Comment

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I posted this in another thread and someone suggested I post it here.

I have numerous friends that tell me I need to root my phone. However, they are not overly specific on what it is or how to root it?

 Specifics of my phone:

I have a galaxy S3 phone, Sprint is my cell proivder

 Questions

 What is rooting the phone?

How would I root the phone? Is it something simple or complex?Comment

You download a tiny program to your pc, connect your phone via usb, and one click run the program. The program runs, does some stuff, reboots your phone a couple times, and informs you when the process is done.

Now you have a rooted phone.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks
