My gs4 updated to kitkat last week. It's horrible. My battery life is awful now.

That's odd, GS4 updated like a month or more ago, don't really remember exactly when.

But either way, my battery life didn't change.

I think I am making the switch tonight! Going to Best Buy for the Galaxy S5 (assuming they'll price match the $168 w/ contract from Amazon). First new phone since August of 2010 (iPhone 4).

Got the S5 last night. This thing is pretty cool. One thing I can't figure out is how to make the lock screen security actually work. I've set up a pin, swipe code, and fingerprint scan. None of them will actually apply. I'm looking at the settings and whichever option I choose still shows to be selected.

Edit - Got the lock screen to work. Didn't know about the timing function.

Anyone else's LinkedIn and Facebook apps terrible over wifi?

I can't load comments, posts, pictures, some job listings, etc. Drives me crazy. Then when I switch wifi off they work immediately.

Reading up on how many people have issues when switching because of iMessage. Surprised there hasn't been any kind of legal action or at least more of a fuss made to make Apple actually put in a fix or something. Seems obvious they are wanting to just punish people for switching away from them.

What you tried anything or just don't know where to start?

It should be as easy as plugging your phone into your computer with a usb and dragging/dropping files from your iTunes folder to My Computer> My device> internal storage>music (or something like that).

A couple questions related to the S5 (or the S in general probably).

                          1. Is there a way to do a backup over WiFi?

                          2. Can you dismiss a text without having to go all the way into the text and read it? If I get a text and I can read the entire thing on the lock screen it's a pain to have to go all the way into the text messages and into the text just so it's marked as read.

you can dismiss the notification by just swiping it, but in order to mark it read, I haven't found a way to do it without reading it

Anything is possible, but no. It's not even really attemptable.
