 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I'm the opposite, hah. Haven't attempted any custom roms after my original root and just played around with the looks.

As far as visual customization goes, I went about doing things manually. Not as easy as just downloading a theme and applying it like in Windows, though I believe such an app exists. I use LauncherPro, it seems to be the best, most flexible one out there. It replaces your phone's UI, retaining most of the functions but also allowing you to do much more. Then there's WidgetLocker, which replaces your lockscreen and allows you to place any widget on your lockscreen (and also requires a bit more advanced tinkering to mod the appearance). From there it's just a matter of putting all the right icons/widgets/wallpaper/dock together.

I don't know if I'm allowed to link any sites but I found xda-developers and androidforums.com to be great sources. They have Themes subforums that cover everything.

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

Couldn't wait 'til after the New Year...my current phone decided it just didn't want to work any longer....

Anyway...just got the Droid X(actually two...they are BOGO)...

Any must have apps(nothing fancy...just anything very servicable)?...

...and has anyone had any problems connecting Bluetooth with their vehicles with these?
I've got a 2007 Audi A4 and an S5...both have bluetooth with the radio/nav systems and my little old LG worked flawlessly, but I've heard of some connectivity problems with some Droids...anything you've got on it, I'd appreciate.

 Thanks!

Of course, I think you should root your phone so you can sideload apps. Xda-developers is a great resource for all rooting things.Comment

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

 I can understand that.

I've been following the Droid for awhile, that's why I was confused. LOL

My wife just got the Incredible, I'm still holding out for next year's batch of phones, but I'm in love with her phone. Never been a fan of Motorola phones, but this thing is awesome.Comment
