One thing I made sure to change when I had my work email syncing on my phone was the update frequency. I always set it to manual, but it starts out at something like every 15 minutes which will destroy battery life.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Lol I agree. I do have my phone set up to check it, but only if I go into it to look. I don't get any notifications and I never usually check the e-mails on my phone. I have it set up just for emergencies if I ever need an e-mail or phone numberNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I'm on the road a lot so I don't have a choice.
I seem to have fixed the issue by setting my personal account to sync every 15 minutes instead of push, which my work account already does.
So, note to anyone who cares, if you have two AS accounts on your phone don't push both of them."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Whenever the carriers release it. I'm thinking the fall at the earliest. Your best bet will be to root and install CM10 or another custom ROM that'll have it before US Carriers start updating. Will it have Google Now? I'm sure it will in some form. It's up to Samsung. I doubt they just ditch their S-Voice to include a full feature S-Voice."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
my work just upgraded my phone from galaxy s to galaxy s2.
good stuff.
the camera is great on this thing.
also, my emails never get stuck in th outbox anymore with the galaxy 2.
i did leave it in the work vehicle for 2 hours the day it was 100+ outside. Thought i fried it.
Took me 1 hr just to get it to turn on. It works now, but there is a small thin line going across the middle of the screen now. Im guessing this has something to do with the heat, correct??Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I want to go with a custom Galaxy Nexus ROM but want to make sure I understand the implications. I've always just flashed the new rooted stock ROMs in the past. If I go to a custom ROM will my apps and data carry over like they do when I upgrade my stock ROM? What about if I choose to go back to stock? Anything else to consider? Any ROM recommendations?Comment
