Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I just cut up a bunch of Scotch tape and put four layers of it on the sim card. Supposedly that does a very good job of fixing this issue by making the card more secure. I did it about three hours ago and so far so good."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I do. It's really awesome having all my bookmarks and that feature where it predicts the URL you're typing. Only real drawback is it runs slower than the default browser.Kansas City Chiefs ~ Sporting Kansas City

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Anyone have experience with the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1? ATT is offering it for $199 with the purchase of a new phone (which I am gonna do, jumping from iPhone). I know nothing about tablets though. I know the Tab 3 comes out next week.
I am open to any tablet suggestions. Just tired of lugging my laptop around the house, so I don't need anything to crazy.Last edited by SuperBowlNachos; 06-28-2013, 12:40 PM.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
depends on what you plan on doing with it. Its a pretty nice tablet if thats what youre worried about. I dont know the specs on the new tab but im pretty sure its a faster version with more features knowing Samsung.
Could likely be the difference say between the S3 and the S4Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
If you get a tablet that's not just wi-fi or whatever, does it connect to the nearest towers with that service? Or does it have to be signed up through your cell provider or something?Comment

In the rare instance I've got my tablet and no wifi around I use the hotspot feature on my phone and use it's unlimited data plan instead of paying for two separate ones.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Yeah its up to the providers to offer that model if you want the 3g type feature tablet that you pay a monthly on but as mabster said if you have a hotspot feature on your phone you can just use that on the tablet for wifi internet outside of your home or starbucks or wherever else you get wifi fromComment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
And then the internet would just run through my already-existing phone service? Interesting. I think I have some hotspot setting on my Evo 3D.
Just testing the waters. I want a tablet because the laptop doesn't allow me to lay in bed as comfortably as I'd like.Comment

Last I checked most service providers charge like $10 monthly fee to enable hotspot feature on your phone. If you root your phone though there are apps in the Play Store that will let you do it for free.
