Ever since the first batch blew up... you knew something wasn't right. I wouldn't give it a second shot. S7 and 6P are the two best imo.

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I wanted this phone but I'll stick with my note 4 for now until something else comes out.

At this rate its some kind of design flaw and Samsung isn't acknowledging it.

You can't just let your flagship phone sink like this.

they need to start working on a new oneComment

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

What provider do you have? Was going to get the Galaxy Note 7 back but with reports of it still having problems I may not mess with it, little to risky. Was wanting a phone comparable to the Note 7 in size and features...maybe I should keep this S7 Edge till next year or any other suggestions? I still have the Oneplus One but it updates so damn much now it's crazy. Got rid of my Note 4 because of the Note 7 but wishing I had kept it now after all this mess.

I just ordered the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition. In terms of hardware, it clobbers the pixel and still comes in cheaper.

 $799, and the specs are:
 Snapdragon 821
 6gb ram
 256gb internal storage
 23 pixel imx318 camera
 5.7" screen

This phone will get me 2 or 3 years easily. It's fairly future proof.

It's also rumored to be a daydream device.

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

It will indeed work on their network. They have a slightly less powerful version for $499. If you're not a power user it should suit you perfectly fine.

As long as you're GSM, and T-Mobile is, you're golden.

 I still have mine.... hmm.

I don't know what phone to switch to. No phone out right now excites me in any way.

I prefer the Samsung phones over other Android because of the physical buttons on the bottom. Ugh.Comment

That looks very good. Any exp with Asus cellphones?

And, I had the S7 Edge and don't want to back to it. Great phone, but after upgrading to Note 7, and knowing the S8 isn't so far away anymore. All mental!Comment

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I was waiting on the Note 7 and since its now dead I just went ahead and ordered the S7 Edge. From everything I have watched and read its still the one of the best, if not the best phone on the market right now.

I'll see what the S8 looks like next year and may get that at some point. But I needed a new phone now because we are adding my daughter to our plan and she needed a new phone so I'm giving her my iPhone.Comment

 Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

The Zenfone 3 Deluxe has the best camera sensor on the market. Brand new Sony imx318. The Sony Xperia X has the same sensor and it's the highest rated camera on a smartphone that is on the market. And the Zenfone absolutely crushes the Xperia in specs, which makes the image processing much smoother.

Dxomark rated the Xperia an 88, and the pixel xl was rated an 89(highest on record). You can expect the Zenfone to at a minimum match that 89. The Samsung sensors are rated 88, while having half as many pixels. And their low light performance is inferior to the imx318.
