Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Ok, so with our plan at sprint we get lines 3-5 free. We have 3 lines now but want to add a fourth to have a spare phone around when needed. So the fact we get the line access free makes me figure why not do it. It will get use for sure so it's not like I'm doing it just to do it.
So anyway, here is my question. Sprint has a deal in the LG G6 right now where its half price so it would only be $14 a month. I've read and watched a ton of reviews and most of them have been very favorable. Does anyone have it? If so, what do you think? So basically should I get that since it's such a great deal, or pay the $30 something it will cost for a S8?
I'm sure all the reviews for the S8 will be stellar. PhoneArena gave it a 9.0 and the G6 an 8.7. I'm not saying it won't deserve great reviews, but lets face it, any samsung flagship will get top notch reviews automatically.
And I'm not sure I can pass up half price for what seems to be a great phone and pay full price for a phone that won't be my daily driver.Comment

As someone who owned the Nexus 5 (made by LG) and more recently the LG G4, I wouldn't hesitate for a second getting any LG other than the G5. That was a colossal failure but this G6 is getting great reviews and at half the price of the S8, I'd do it.

However, I'm due for an upgrade so both the G6 and the S8 are enticing.

No the G4 is one of my favourite phones I've ever owned. I didn't have any issues with it personally, though I do know there were some who had bootloop problems.
The G5 was a edit: COMMERCIAL failure with its modular design and you only have to look at the design of the G6 to see that LG thinks so too. The two phones couldn't be more different.
Edit: wanted to correct myself, the actual phone wasn't bad. It was just such a huge departure from the G4 they lost alot of LG fans going with the design of the G5.

Thinking of upgrading and getting the Huawei P10. The photos from the phone are fantastic and I love the P9 so I'll pass it along to my empolyees to use for a front desk phone.Comment

The P10 looks great, as does the P10 Plus. Huawei in general, since making the awesome Nexus 6P, has been on a roll. Their Honor line is also churning out some great phones.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I'm still rocking my HTC One M7 after like 4 years lol. I want a new phone but my wife went through a phase where hers got broken often. She has a S7 now that's in good shape thankfully, about a year or so into payments on hers.
Maybe this fall I'll find the budget to get something new. Mine gets slow at times, but honestly does what I need it to. It's amazing how long some of these phones can survive. I could see whatever phone I get next lasting a long time.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I use an iPhone 6S Plus as my daily driver but keep a Nexus 6P around to use for a week or so whenever I feel like changing things up. Considering how great the battery was at release, with every update the battery life has gotten significantly worse. Even with light use, I can't make it to the end of a day without charging.
With that said, if I were in your shoes I'd hold out for the next Pixels. Rumours suggest the design will be similar to the LG G6 and Sammy S8's with the near bezeless design. It'll be a big time upgrade over the first gen Pixels.

I had the G3 and the G4 and won't buy another LG phone. I had the well-known bootloop issue on the G4 (also present on the V10). There's currently a proposed class action lawsuit on every LG flagship from 2015-2016.. Had the well-known G3 screen flickering/fade to black issue too.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
So after much debate I decided on the S8. Switched our plan around a bit and won't be paying any extra.
I went with the regular size one. I already feel like my iPhone 7 plus is huge so having a 6.2 inch screen might be a little much. But I am concerned I made the wrong decision on that. I guess if it's too small I can just return it and get the plus.
What really sucks is I ordered it yesterday around 5pm and got free overnight shipping, but it was after the cutoff for the day so it didn't ship until today and UPS doesn't do Saturday delivery so now I won't get it till Monday. UGHComment
