    Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

So I got the Sony Xperia 1 last week and I can honestly say this is one of the best phones I have owned.

Of course, my last phone was the Samsung Galaxy 7, so its been awhile since I've upgraded but this phone is pretty slick. The 4K and 21:9 screen are pretty awesome and making watching movies and shows great.

I have to admit one of the primary reasons I got this was the PS4 remote play option, which works great when I am at work, but the rest of the phone is awesome. This was definitely worth getting.

Just picked up a Huawei P30 pro as a second phone to my IPhone X.

Pretty sick phone, the pictures are ridiculous. 32 mp front camera?! The back is a 40 mp with a wide angle.

Battery life is amazing too especially my iPhone is draining like crazy now.

I got a great deal on it for 200 bucks starting up a new plan. My guess it was because of all the Huawei being banned a couple months ago but everything has worked perfectly. I also got a free wireless earbuds but they suck compared to AirPods.

I would say it keeps up or beats the flagships out right now.

I had an s10+ because of same deal I’m getting now. I loved it, but couldn’t commit to a full change. I ended up selling it for 800.

So we shall see what I do here, but I have it pre ordered and ready to go when it ships.

I never regret it when I switch from iOS to android but using an iPhone makes my life easier with all my iPhone wielding family in a way an Android can’t so I go back every time.

How much if anything will unlocked phone prices go down in a few months once the next set of phone releases happen?

They drop some, but depends on the supply. If they have a lot, it will drop more. I think I got my S8 for $200-300 after the S9 had been out. I think the unlocked ones were on sale for around $400.

1 thing to note on unlocked phones, they usually do not work with wifi calling as it is a carrier enforced policy and doesn't work without the carrier rom. I had to switch back to a Verizon phone because of it.

I've had unlocked phones for ages. It does what I need it to do.

Pre-ordered mine Thursday and can't wait, feel like I've had this Note 8 for ages but will get the screen fixed and do a trade in once I have the 10+ next week. Person I talked to said I can get 450 trade in for the Note 8, will see if that's actually true.

I'm not just imagining this right? I feel like Android used to have a "move to SD card" option for apps. But I cant seem to find it.

Have you checked the storage section? If you phone has an SD Card, you'll find it in that section

It shows me how much space I have left on the SD card, but I cant figure out how to do things like move app data or other similar things to SD card.

WhatsApp just automatically did it without me going to any setting.

You're on Samsung right? It is probably disabled. You can move apps individually that allow it, but only if the app has the option. Go to settings, apps, then click on the app and storage. It will let you select it there.

Samsung also disables the sd card merge so you can use both internal and sd card as 1 drive.

                              Ya I have Samsung.

I dont know what SD card merge is lol. All I know is that I have my camera set up to have everything saved on SD card, as is case with spotify. All my other app data I think are on my phone.

It's adoptable storage or something like that. It formats the sd card as part of the internal storage. If you remove it though, your phone won't work. Then you don't have to set individual apps to use the sd card because it's already part of the internal storage.
