If you're looking at a sound bar, I'd highly suggest getting a powered subwoofer to go with it.

A pretty good 100W 8" sub can be had for about $100.

Thanks, but I am just going to get the basic. Sony has one like Football said and that is the one I will most likely get.

that exact soundbar/sw combo is being sold by somebody in my area on craigslist for $220, if i had the extra cash I'd definitely be snagging it.

cnet agrees that the sony bar/Sub is the best combo going if you don't get a true surround sound setup. http://reviews.cnet.com/home-theater...l?tag=txt;page

good to see that it can accept lossless audio via LPCM if your blu ray player does the decoding.

Yeah we have a small family room area, but when we move in about 5 years we will get a bigger home and that will be when I go all out for entertainment system.

i hear ya. a soundbar can easily be moved to a different room when the time comes.

i don't have cable so my tv had to have digital audio out so i could get surround sound when watching football games (tv in general) OTA.

that may have been the dealbreaker on why I chose the LG over a 50 inch 720p Panasonic.

Football, are you getting a little obsessed now? http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...771&highlight=

Dude, just sit back and enjoy the TV.......quit buying smaller TV's thinking that the bigger TV is going to get burn-in. Your only causing more stress on yourself.........return the Plasma if you are worried about the burn-in and get an LCD.

Please explain this one, LOL! All of a sudden you won a PS3?

alright guys, I'm a gamer. I own a PS3 and I game about a few hours a week and not everyday, I really need to know something. Can I game without worries on my New plasma after break in? I just got rid of my RPTV which I gamed on and it was great the last 3 years. I bought a Sony LCD and...

Scott and I are not trying to be jerks here, but just by these 3 threads alone you are driving yourself nuts over the plasma.

Here is my take on Plasma and LCD. Plasma have a brighter colors, but they are almost too fake. I like sharp rich colors, but I want it to look real too. I remember when I watched a Sharks game on a HDTV Plasma. I was in love with how the colors pop out at me, then I went to a real game and those colors did pop out at me at all. The Plasma spoiled me from watching a real game. LCD the colors in my opinion are a little more real. At least on my Sony they are. I know you have had problems with this set Football and that is cool. I like my set, but I wish I would have waited and got the LED. That is sick! I will probably go that route in about 3 years. My dad has Plasma and he likes it a lot. So you got a good TV. I don't really know that much about burn in, but they seem to be an issue with some sets in the pass, but I was told now that is not an issues.
