I dare say the final episode may top the finale of M*A*S*H.....

I don't know about that. I don't think so. Maybe if the series finale was back in 2000 or so.

If Fox does it right, and advertises the crap out of it, I think it still could. I haven't watched the show in years, but I'd watch the finale.

I don't think anything will ever top the MASH finale simply because of the fact that there is widespread cable now.

The funny thing is, MASH finale isn't even #1 anymore. I believe the last two Super Bowls have topped it.

in number of viewers the SBs had more but not in share and % of households. I dont think anything could ever top it in those unless we have like first contact with aliens or something.

Last night's episode was another great one....from the open with Letterman, all the way through, I couldn't stop laughing!

"My favorite computer game is Angry Nerds"......

Grandpa: "And I created an alcoholic hippo!"

Homer: "You never showed it to me!!"

Grandpa: " A stupid alcoholic hippo!"

                Lmao!!!!!

It kills me that kids these days don't know the brilliance of The Simpsons in its hay day. There is 15 seasons worth of solid episodes(3-11 are pretty much all classics)

Not just simpsons, but really any kind of show that's been around for over a decade.

Simpsons, like basically most shows that have been around for over a decade, will only ever end of the producers/writers and people like that want to end it.

Unfortunately for Simpsons, they're in the days where each season has more bad episodes than good one(but it still doesn't mean there aren't good episodes, there's still a number of good episodes that have happened in recent seasons). I'd say right around the time of the simpsons movie aftermath is when things started looking down, but HD days are when it really got turned down in quality.

They just try too hard today to draw ratings and be relatable to people. It's annoying having so many celebrity guest stars on the shows(according to a site that was posted by someone on here a few weeks ago,I believe the Lady Gaga episode was lowest rated episode in the shows history in terms of fans rating all Simpsons episode on IMDB), having so many episodes of the show dealing with romances and stuff too, just gets real annoying to watch these things.

I actually think there are way, way more good episodes than bad these days. In fact, the show has been a roll for several years now, with a marked improvement in quality. Not every episode is a home run, but a show still capable of churning out this season's Side Show Bob episode is one I want to stay on the air for a long, long time.

Marge: Bake sale-- taken. Candle snuffing-- taken. Baby shusher, miscellaneous choir support. Everything's taken! All that's left is...
Ned: Teen abstinence counseling. You get to pass out abstinence pledges and make sure the kids sign their John Han-bleeps.
Marge: But, Ned, saying nay is your thing.
Ned: Not this month. Edna signed us up for a tango class. It was the only way I could avert... wine-tasting.
Marge: Look, I'm really not comfortable talking about S-E-X with K-I-D-S.
                          Reverend Lovejoy: (walking by) Language.
Ned: Oh, it's not that hard. Just tell them that God wants them to ignore everything in their bodies that God is making happen.
                          Todd: We took the pledge!
Rod: We won't have sex until we're married!
                          Todd: To each other!

Homer: (reading Tweeter's Digest) I like how they cut them down from 140 characters to a more manageable 20 characters.
Marge: Oh, another seminar tomorrow. I just wish I could connect with those teenagers, since it seems like we'll never have any.
Homer: Oh, Marge, teens can't control their urges. It's why there's never been a teenage president.
Marge: Are you saying I'm wasting my time?
                          Homer: No. I'm saying you're wasting everyone's time. But it's a church thing, so that's a given.

Lenny: I don't get it. There are taboos about premarital sex in the Middle East, and you don't see those people getting all violent.

Marge: If you defeat this madman (Sideshow Bob), I'll release you from your pledge and teach you other fun ways not to get pregnant.
Shauna: I think I might be pregnant already.
Marge: Well, that's one of them.

I've been watching since the Tracy Ullman days, and while the voices and stories have changed, I still find it funny.

Come on!!! Their last political episode (With Ted Nugent) was great, lol
