Re: Is it time for 'The Simpsons' to 'g'oh'?

I noticed one thing that seems to happen more with the newer episodes. At times it seems like they have trouble figuring out an ending. Perfect example was a season 19 episode that was good until the ending for me. "E. Pluribus Wiggum" (Ralph wins the primary) didn't really have a conclusion. Just felt like they ran out of time. Has happened more than few times, but that episode it was glaring because it was actually pretty damn good up till that point.

That season wasn't all that good, but it did have some really bright spots in "Enternal Moonshine of the Simpsons Mind" and "Dial 'N' For Nerder."

Just saw the episode where Homer goes to jail and ends up working with Fat Tony. Loved the parody of Goodfellas at the end!!

As a person who stays up till like 2 or 3 in the morning, I've missed having episodes to catch around that time.

It's not just Simpsons, really many other shows seem to be like that(at least to me). The beginning seems good and all,but slowly until the end, stuff just seems to get worse and worse. Previews for episodes sound so great many times, but then by time the episode ends, you realize the preview was really the only great part of the episode.

One main thing I hate in Simpsons is the romances/relationships they have in the show involving Bart or Lisa and a character who has no real importance at all to anything in the show(usually cause they're only in 1-2 episodes at most in the entire series).

And another thing I hate about shows today...they all try to be relatable/"hip". Trying desperately to connect with people watching the show, having to use celebrity guest appearances just to attempt to draw interest in the show and so on. You could watch an old episode of Simpsons and enjoy it today and minus lack of HD, prob won't really know what year the episode aired. But stuff today, all the references and celebrity guest stars and stuff, you get a good idea when it happened.

That's a problem with a lot of new shows. Dropping references to "Facebook" and "hashtags" and "Kardashian" and all that.

            So lame and so lazy.

I will say, the voice actors have the best gigs. Imagine making all that money, being famous, and still being able to go out in public without being swarmed by fans, as most wouldn't know what you looked like!

Eh, I can't really give The Simpsons credit on the celebrity appearances thing. That's something they've done forever.

They also do plenty of stunts to draw attention to the show (e.g. This big marathon that just happened, you might have heard of it; character deaths that are announced beforehand, tune in to the season premiere; show crossovers, tune in to the Family Guy season premiere and the Simpsons Futurama episode later this year; etc).

They generally use the "hip" lingo for jokes though like in one of the more recent episodes where Jimbo said he had to hear a tech related word every few sentences or he would walk out of Flanders' bible study group. That's not a bad thing.

The relationships thing should honestly stay that way with them only lasting a few episodes at most considering they're both in the lower grades of grade school. That's just how that works in real life too lol.

I know people are not going to agree with this has I know a lot of people think the simpsons started to suck around season 13 but I don't think it did. Season like 3-13 was when the show was at its best. Season 14 the show started to get worse but only a little worse and was still really really funny. I don't think the show got way worse intill around season 20. Even then I think it was still some what funny and I don't think the show got really bad like almost unwatchable in till around season 22-23.
Also I don't watch many shows I mostly play video games and watch tv. I think sitcoms now days are just stupid and not funny. 90's and 80's had all the great sitcoms. Family matters, just shoot me, home improvement, fresh price, 3erd rock form the sun are all much better then the crap today and cartoons and music used to be much better to.

Season premiere on Sunday! The episode where that big moment finally happens! I'd be surprised if it wasn't who I've thought it was the past few months.

Also...right after that episode they have the Family Guy-Simpsons crossover! Hope the Simpsons writers had just as much input as Family Guy writers since Family Guy writers have been sucking more and more past few years.

Another new episode tonight. Hopefully auto racing on FOX doesn't delay the air time of this episode.

Since it's October,I'm watching each of the "treehouse of horror" episodes a day. Starting with 1,and ending with 24(25 will be somewhere in the middle since I'll watch it when it airs on tv). You can tell the quality of Simpsons seasons based on treehouse of horror episodes.

Oh I don't know about that because really the treehouse of horror episodes have never been that good.

I think the show is still funny, so I wasn't surprised at all that the premiere was good. In particular, Marge trying to get Homer to breathe in his sleep slayed me. And the roast jokes were quite funny.

While I know a lot of people think the show isn't really that funny any more so its nice to now someone still thinks it is. I think the show was in its prim form season 3-13 and then after started to get just slightly worse in season 14. I think the show was still great in till around season 20 then I think the show had a big drop off and by around season 22 it got hard to keep watching the show has it wasn't really funny any more so I was kind of surpised that the premiere as has funny has it was. The movie is the best thing sences like season 13 I hope they do another one.
