    Elvis Presley

I'm just wondering if there are any big Elvis fans here? I'm a huge Elvis fan who can't get enough of his later (70's) work. I've got most of his videos on youtube marked and enjoy watching them. Anyone else here a fan of the King?

    What are your favorite songs/videos?

I like Elvis, he is awesome, never be another singer of his caliber, my favorite song would have to be suspicious minds, don't know why, just love that song.

Look at this video, supposedly it's Elvis in 1994...

This sounds just like him, no question in my mind, but the guy does NOT look like Elvis IMO..

I'll post it for you here too:

That's Orion Jimmy Ellis... he's just an impersonator. He had a crazy death too, check it out:

Ok, aside from the crazy death, Elvis was a great performer. In a lot of ways, I know it's nuts, but I identify with him. He seems like he is unhappy.

Well, I was referring to Ellis' death, but I agree about the happy thing. Clearly Elvis had some struggles near the end of his life. Sad stuff.

My theory is that at some point in your life you become an Elvis fan. It can happen when you're younger or older, but it'll happen...
My parents used to have some records of Elvis, and I remember them telling me that during the 60's there was kind of a rivalry between Elvis' fans and Paul Anka's fans (at least in Israel)...LOL. I actually never really understood the fuss. Then, a few years ago, it got me. And from then on...give me Elvis - 50's, 60's, 70's...just give me The King! I do prefer his 50's to mid 60's, but I'll take anything, he's the king!

Some of my favorite Elvis songs:

Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 he would be about to turn 75 in a few weeks, that man is not that old, sounds a lot like Elvis though, very impressed with his voice, but not Elvis (died on August 16, 1977), eight days after my 5th birthday.

I can't believe people pay money (assuming they payed for that) to see a "re-make" of Elvis. I mean, yeah, we all want to see him live and alive, but come on!

Good singer and performer, but I don't consider him a real "musician" as he never really wrote his songs, he was more of a personality and showman. As far as my favorite of his songs, I like "Trying to get to you".

75TH birthday of The King this Friday coming up. I have 4 dvds on the way from Amazon to celebrate. Stupid Best buy did not have *ONE* single DVD of Elvis when I went there, I was so mad. I think i'm done with Best buy for DVD's, it's amazon from here on out. If they dont' have the King then chances are they won't have many other artists i want unless they're popular kiddie acts of the moment.

Adam - a guy at work here said the same thing. I think it's a valid point but I don't think it really matters in the overall scope of things considering his impact.
