Another one of my favorites, and I think the performance of this song in this concert by Elvis was very powerful.

                Re: Elvis Presley

I just got a book on Kindle last night from Amazon called The story behind Elvis top 34 hits and wow, it's some great reading if you're an Elvis fan. Very interesting how a lot of these songs came about and the story behind them. Like for instance did you guys know that Elvis loved the song Hound Dog...as a joke. He thought it was funny. He did NOT want to put it on a record. He had to be convinced to do so because he viewed it as, well to put it in today's terms, a Weird Al type song. He eventually was convinced and the rest is history. So check that book out, it's awesome.

I'm also reading Dr. Nick and Elvis, a book by Elvis' doctor. Boy does it really have a different take on a lot of the stuff you've read in the media about Elvis and his health issues too...very interesting stuff.

I think Suspicious Minds is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, Elvis song.

I'm a fan of Elvis. Love the later Elvis more, but its all good. "Wonder of You" was a song my grandpa use to play for my grandma all the time so that song is always a great reminder of him.

A coworker and friend of mine is a HUGE Elvis fan. He is a big collector and has a room dedicated to the man.

                      Re: Elvis Presley

Just a note about one of those books....one thing that stands out to me is in “The King and Dr. Nick” Elvis’ doctor says that after the Aloha from Hawaii concert was over Elvis got in the limo and Dr. Nick was excited and said to Elvis “that’s one billion people you just sang to, it’s incredible isn’t it?” and he said Elvis just looked past him like into space and had this look on his face that he’d never seen before. He never answered after that and they rode in silence. Dr. Nick wrote that Elvis would never be the same after that, like something died that night. I speculate that maybe once Elvis realized he’d had a concert go out to a billion people he realized that maybe he’d done it all, and had nothing really left to try to do?? Like that was it, it was over, there were no more worlds to conquer so to speak?

Regardless, it makes watching the Aloha from Hawaii concert somewhat different now after reading that.

HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY ELVIS ARON PRESLEY!

One minor note-in this thread is a link of Elvis best movies. The author synopsizes Jailhouse Rock as, among other things, Elvis falling in love with two women at one time. That is not true-the other woman was just an Elvis fling and received a minuscule amount of screen time.
My favorite Elvis song (which appears in Jailhouse Rock) is Treat Me Nice. Here is the song from the movie.
