    *** American Idol: Season 9 ***

Breaking news, Simon is leaving the show after this season. The good news is that you can still get your Simon fix in 2011 when he brings the American version of the X Factor. Simon leaving AI is a huge blow to the show. He's a huge reason why AI is the most popular show on TV.

The big change this season is Paula Abdul is no longer on the show and has been replaced by Ellen. I will miss Paula in a car crash kind of way. There were several episodes the past couple of seasons where it looked like she was on drugs.

We also have a bunch of guest judges during the auditions: Victoria Beckham, Mary J Blidge, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoworth, Shania Twain, Katy Perry, and Avril Lavigne.

Will we see the next William Hung?

I will take a peek just to see how Ellen "criticizes" when really what the hell does she know about music?

I dance in my house, doesn't mean I know music and what makes a good singer

I'm not happy about losing Paula. And Ellen? She can be funny, but I was never a big Ellen fan. Couldn't they find someone with some musical credentials?
I'll still watch. I like the trainwreck and the good auditions, watching some of the talent develop and some of the stars that come on to mentor or perform.

My wife absolutely loves American Idol so I watch it with her. The early auditions are pretty amusing. With that said, I can't stand Ellen and neither can my wife. I find her more annoying than anything. She might make the show tough to watch this season.

I also think this will be the last season that we watch the show. With Simon leaving after this season and the addition of Ellen, it won't be the same. The back and forth between Simon and the other judges is a part of what makes this show interesting to me. Without him, I think it might get stale...

No one will be able to replace Simon. He IS American Idol. Without him the show will suck.

The thing is, shows like this are killing network scripted shows. Their ratings are so high, that other channels put crap stuff up against shows like American Idol and Dancing with the has beens.

I dont watch it, i havent since a few episodes in season one, but they are killing everything else ratiings wise which sucks.

So, it does affect everyone if you watch it or not.

They shouldn't have aired the segment featuring the guy with the glasses. You could tell he was playing a character to get on tv and he wasn't even funny.

I wasn't impressed with anybody tonight. Somebody also needs to shove a hamburger down Victoria Beckham's throat.

The ugly dude with the two broken wrists was pretty solid. The big Italian guy was pretty good too.

The girls just liked the guy with the broken arms because he was a carbon copy of Justin from season one. I bet he rides this show because of that.
