Anyways, some pictures I came across on Twitter. I wish they would have just went for a classic look with the suit.

And a few other pictures here.
They had to change it up on the costume so parents didn't feel they were buying newer versions of the old toys . . .so, think of it as old toys with a new paint job.

I know that. I just wish they would have gone with a better look than what they did. It didn't have to be the same as the suit from the original trilogy, but at least something more simple/classic would have been nice.

It's like when a sports team redesigns their jerseys with a bunch of unnecessary piping, stripes, etc.

The only movie of the first trilogy I didn't enjoy was the third one. I felt the first two were great movies and the second one is probably my second or third favorite super-hero movie.

          Seriously...
This isnt a Hulk reboot, where the 1st movie was terrible.

Its barely been 10 years since the 1st Spiderman, and that movie was freakin amazing as well as the 2nd.

This trailer does not do anything to excite me, especially Mirrors Edge and the obligatory "3d" that needs to be in the movie ugh.

I think the first two movies were and are great as well, and they're two of my favorite movies, but the third movie was garbage and ruined what they had built up.

Like I said, Spider-Man is a cash cow. Hollywood isn't going to let those millions and millions pass by.

The same reboot thing will be happening with Batman after The Dark Knight Rises concludes Nolan's Batman trilogy. I can see how it's lame, but I think you have to look at it the same way comic series's are done where there's multiple different stories of the same character.

Bad acting and bad visuals imo. Once again from what I have seen so far. Actual movie could be much better.
Bad acting? How do you gather that from what's been shown?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film)

Its a trailer. The only thing its supposed to do is get people excited for the movie and give a glimpse at the plot. I don't see how you can come to the conclusion that the acting is bad and the visuals are bad when there's about 20 different scenes in less than a minute and the majority of the trailer (hopefully) isn't in the film.

As for what the trailer is supposed to do (get people excited), it obviously didn't work. I'm sure it will be a good movie, but I don't want to be left sitting there still hoping that Spidey is a super sarcastic ego-maniac flying on webbing. As much as I enjoyed the first two films, the 90s cartoon still captured Spiderman/Peter Parker the best as far as moving pictures goes.

This is the biggest thing for me - whether or not Garfield's Spiderman/Parker will be sarcastic. It's one of the best parts about Spidey...he cracks jokes on and insults the people he's fighting almost every time. It's a big part of the character.

As for the original Spiderman trilogy...the third one is terrible, that's that. The first two, however, I think are good to very good movies in spite of themselves. My personal opinion - Tobey was a terrible casting choice. Could never buy him as Spiderman and he was too weak of a Peter Parker, though I think that was more script than him...still, never liked that choice. Kirsten Dunst was a miserable Mary Jane choice, as well. James Franco was rather melo-dramatic as Harry, but I blame the script more for that because he can actually be a damn good actor when he needs to be. Yet, despite me hating the casting choices for two of the biggest roles and thinking most of the actual story scenes were over-dramatized to the point of being cheesy...they were still good movies and I enjoy both of them, however they're not in my Top Five for superhero movies anymore.

Just my feelings. I'm still excited for this movie because, aside from the first-person scene, I liked the feeling of the trailer.

I don't like the eyes, its see through, would of rather the older design. Trailer didn't excite me as well but it might be a decent movie. The original trilogy was good except for the 3rd of course.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film)

Something I feel when I've watched the first movie (it's been on TV a few times over the past couple months) is that they actually did a better job of doing the funny "quips" or one liners by Spider-Man than a lot of people give it credit for.

I still love the second movie, and I should probably rewatch it sometime soon since it's been awhile, but I think they maybe tightened up a bit. To me the first movie was a lot looser while still having it's serious moments.

Also, ignoring the third movie (I prefer to pretend it doesn't exist), the first two made their fair share of missteps and mistakes even though they still turned out pretty well. Things like going through the high school portion of Peter's life in the first half-hour or hour of the movie, Spider-Man somehow always getting unmasked (it felt like half the damn city knew who he was by the end of the second movie), never introducing Eddie Brock or Gwen Stacy in the first two movies and developing them properly, stupid and unnecessary scenes like the little girl somehow having super strength and pulling Peter up in the burning building, etc.

Hopefully this reboot avoids making mistakes like that and actually lays out a plan for a series of movies the way the Nolan Batman movies have because the biggest **** up in the original Spider-Man trilogy is that they basically unraveled everything they had built up. Instead of tying things up properly, they rushed in new characters, untied the whole Uncle Ben thing for no good reason, and ended the movie with a terrible scene that still left questions to be asked.

I thought the trailer was decent, even the first-person part. I've only seen Andrew Garfield in The Social Network, so not sure how he'll do. I didn't think Toby Maguire would make a very good Peter Parker/Spiderman from a look/build standpoint but he made the part his. Garfield looks a little more like the original comic book Parker/Spiderman physically imo

I won't be seeing this at the movies and hope it bombs to be honest. This looks like they have just tried to recycle the first Spider Man at a blatant attempt to milk this cash cow.

I'm a big comic book movie guy and have no problem with the number of comic book related movies being made but at least don't be so blatant in virtually copying a movie that was on made in 2002.

I also have to think that the Mirror's Edge type stuff would have to be in the movie wouldn't it? Why else would they go to all that effort?

If it really is, they're going to have to step up the visuals past PC gaming graphics. I guess they have a whole 'nother year to work on that shot, but I'd just prefer it isn't in there at all.
