Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film)

I've been reading that the movie is a lot more dark and gritty than Raimi's.
I was a tad disappointed to hear that as I wanted to take my 9 and 5 year old to the movie.
    Maybe not now.

EXCLUSIVE... UPDATE: Sources are telling me that Sony Pictures' The Amazing Spider-Man swept the Asian box office this weekend as the much-anticipated actioner opened early in a handful of international territories. The reboot of Marvel's most popular character will be released July 3rd in the U.

Seems to be doing really well internationally.

Maybe I just haven't paid attention prior to this year but I don't get this trend of the big movies opening overseas before it comes here.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Hoping I get to see this tonight. Just have to hope a friend pulls through. I really want to see this, but not enough to be "that guy that goes to a movie alone".

Don't know if you've tried it before, but going to movies alone is awesome.

I also thought going to baseball games alone would suck. It does, unless you're in the bleachers and find the "good-drunk, not bad-drunk" buddies to endure the game with.

I love going to movies alone, especially a comic book movie since I don't have to answer questions about ago each character is.

I've never done it before so I just figured it would be awkward. Maybe I will if I have to.

I will defintely watch this movie on Friday or Saturday but I'm not sure if I should watch it in 3D or not. I'm not usually a huge 3D fan but if the movie has it well done in that department I would see it in that way.

I don't know how you guys doing, I went to see X-2 Alone and thought it was terrible, had all these awkward looks. Plus whenever something awesome would happen I'd turn to the side and go "oh ****" and there would be no one there and I'd go " oh that's right" It was too much of a fail. So I usually take a girl with me or my best friend... Usually their briefed ahead of time.

I don't see the point of going to the movie with someone..It's not like you're going to talk with them during the movie...

I don't know what kind of theater you go to but I've never had a single person look at me weird or even care that I'm there at all.

I prefer to go to the movies alone, I can go to the matinee and pay $7 instead of going at night and with a girl and paying 3 times that amount...
