Saw it in 3D today. Very very good. Good action scenes and a single well-developed villian (as opposed to the Spidey 3 disaster). And anything with Emma Stone wearing a short skirt throughout cannot possibly be bad.

I think YOU will definitely like it. They did a good bit of comic fan service with the origin... and gave it a minor twist.

I was very happy with it. Then again, I liked the original 1 and 2 as well.

Of course not... good stuff. I liked 1 and 2 for the most part also. Had some gripes but was't disappointed with them like the 3rd. Looking forward to tomorrow.

My friend and I were debating and we came to the conclusion its Mysterio.(Spell?) I mean the whole demeanor and the way he was in and out fast. Of course it could just be him going even more crazy.

Just got back from the movie and I really enjoyed it. Garfield was great as Spidey and Emma Stone was awesome as well. I thought the story was solid, the acting solid and the pacing was sharp.

I wasn't too bothered by the unmasking parts, but I can see the other side of that argument as well.

First blush has me ranking this Spidey right at the top.

Just got back from seeing it again and it was just as good. I can't stress enough how well they pulled off Spider-Man's personality. The first few scenes where he finally steps into the suit put a big smile on my face both times.

Also, it's hard not to just stare at anything but Emma Stone whenever she's on screen. Her as Gwen Stacy, as well as every other character are perfectly cast IMO.

As for the end credits scene:

It was much more vague than I thought it was going to be. It's really hard to tell who the shadowy character is. My initial thought was it's Norman Osborn since he's referenced throughout the entire movie, but it looks like I'm wrong.....

Update #2: Ain't It Cool spoke to Rhys Ifans, who plays Dr. Connors in the film, and he said that the mystery character is not Norman Osborn. "A representative from OsCorp appears miraculously in the room," he tells the site. "How he gets in there and how he leaves, we don’t know. Maybe we will find out. But it’s not Norman Osborn. ... But it is someone who is in the employ of Norman Osborn without question."
The site followed up by asking, "[It's] someone we're familiar with, who we don’t know is employed by Osborn?" And Ifans replied, "Yeah."
So if it's not Osborn, then who the heck could it be?

Got back from seeing it as well. I think it's the best new Marvel film to date (since Iron Man), and Garfield was a great new Parker representation. The villain, while inspiring for the sake of the story, is definitely too generic to be one of my favorites, but I thought the action scenes were... what's the term here... well-choreographed?

Good laughs and smiles, terrific casting, and a very worthy reboot, although I still do feel five years since the most recent Spidey (or ten years from the first one) still seems very soon.

I have to admit that I didn't expect a whole lot out of this film to begin with, and in fact I wasn't even super hyped up about it. I'm glad to see I was wrong. This is right up there near Spider-Man 2, which is given an edge of superiority because of Dr. Octopus and anything involving the Daily Bugle.


I do have a question, though...

Right after Peter is shot, he feels his wound with his hand as he's climbing, and we get an obvious blood hand print shot when he climbs up a ledge. Was that shot there just to show how much he's bleeding, or can that be used in a sequel for somebody to find and discover who Spider-Man is?

I saw this last night and its my favorite Spiderman movie for sure and one of the better superhero movies to date. Simply because I think Andrew Garfield smoked Toby McGuires Spiderman. I may have to watch the originals again but it seemed they made this Spiderman way more agile and quicker than Raimi's like what I expected Spiderman should have been. I also think Garfields body is perfect for Spiderman also. I always thought Toby while skinny didn't fit what I thought Spidey should have looked like.

Emma Stone is great too. She's become probably my favorite actress in Hollywood. Whatever she does she always has great chemistry with her partner.

What I also loved was the webbing throughout the movie. It was so creative with how it was used in fight scenes and pretty much anytime Spidey used it.

I loved that fight scene in the high school when he wrapped the lizard in webbing. They did a great job portraying the Lizards power also.

Thanks. The only reason I initially thought about it was because I thought it was going to take part in this actual film, and since it hadn't, I wondered if there was anything else to know about it. Since he was shot in the leg and appeared to carry on through the rest of the film (though with some struggles), I never felt threatened for his well-being after the gunshot, even with that glimpse of the blood print.

I think this is a movie that would make fans extremely excited, and others would like but not love. I could also see some people hating it.

First and most importantly, HOLY **** EMMA STONE IS SO DAMN HOT.

K, got that out of my system.

Garfield is so much better than TM as Spiderman. He looks and plays the part almost exactly like I'd want a movie Peter Parker to play him. Instead of being this extreme introvert, I think Garfield, and the writers, did a great job of making him an introvert but also much more emotionally interesting than Rami ever did.

Conners was terrific, as was the casting of Uncle Ben and Aunt Mae. Terrific job there.

Isn't it great how Peter doesn't just shoot webs from his magical wrist anymore and instead has shooters? Fantastic, so glad they went that route. They also made "Spidey Sense" more of a power than before.

And then my only real gripe of the movie: When Captain Stacy dies, he tells PP to stay away from Gwen. Then, what, ten minutes later he tells Gwen that he is basically going to disobey that almost a week after he died. What's the damn point of making the promise anyway if you are going to break it? Whatever.

The big thing I did love about this movie is that it didn't treat the characters like morons. Peter was willing to tell those he loved, well outside of May, that he is Spiderman. So when Spiderman is unmasked, it actually makes sense, and also gives more of a reason to be fearful of Peter's identity.

All this said, I think this movie will get Spidey pushed into the Marvel universe now. All I could think of at the end is how sweet would it be to have Iron Man introduce himself after all this happened? Spidey NEEDS to be a part of this universe, and I'm glad to hear that Disney is more likely to grant this request in the near future.

I'd give this movie a solid 8/10. Could have done a tiny bit more, but it's a really solid Marvel movie, who seems to be just mopping the floor right now with DC, outside of Batman. It's really great to see the movies get this kind of treatment.
