You guys see season 2 was delayed cause Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) got diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Hope he gets better and can continue. Wonder who they will put as the young spartacus if this prequel series gets made.

At first I didn't think a show could top HBO's Rome and the Wire, but this 1st season certainly comes close. What a show definitely one of my top favorites of all time.Comment

Same here, honestly I thought this show started pretty weak. It felt like a poor man's 300. I'm glad I stuck with it. Wow, just finished watching this show and it was amazing. We watched the 13 episodes in like 6 days. I almost didn't continue watching this series after the first episode, but if you do watch, don't let the first episode determine whether you continue to watch. The cheesy 300 like combat bothered me, but they seemed to move away from it as time went on.
This show has it all, great story (the best part about the show and the only reason I kept watching), lots of action and good battle sequences, shocking scenes (the part in the pits when the face gets ripped off was shocking to me), and incredibly hot women.
I heartily recommend this to anyone. I actually can say I enjoyed this more than Rome. It may not be for everyone though. It is extreme in its nudity, sex, violence and gore. Don't think I have ever seen a show like this.Comment
