This show is whack.......thought it would be good but now it is slowly but surely going off the cliff and dying. This will be pulled off the air before May. The main character just has a boring appeal to him, he always has, which is why Deadwood ended so quickly. He couldnt carry a show if his life depended on it.

As great as Michael Chiklis is, if he faced the same quality writing that this series has shown the last two episodes you wouldn't be able to buy The Shield Season 2.

I'm not quite ready to bail on it yet.

I agree the first episode was leagues better than the following ones but I think they're still trying to find their stride at this stage. The show still has an edge and a certain laid back charm, it just lacks a little direction at this stage.

I agree with pretty much everything you say, but it hasn't been too edgy the last two episodes.

The lead character still has a certian edge about him. Though it's getting muted in the ex-wife/girlfriend drama segments.

In my opinion, the biggest problem with the last two episodes has been the ineptitude of the bad guys. The first show greatly benifitted from Goggin's as the lead heel. And with what looks like a set up for his return later in the season...I hope they're not trying to coast until then.

This episode showed some promise.

Givens showed a little more life, it seems. He was a little more to the point, and the episode had a lot more action in it. I think it's starting to get good. It seems this season has been geared towards giving us a feel for Givens character and his past.. I expect things to get a little more serious in the coming episodes .

A bit better but still not nearly hard hitting enough. Too much unnecessary dialog from the dentist near the end. An improvement but not enough to stop the downward spiral.
PS: Is it just me or is the actress playing the black cop terrible? All her lines seemed forced. Anytime she talks it's like fingernails across the chalkboard for me.

ehh, I enjoyed the first 2 shows but last night I turned it on and was like, who cares? never looked back. its safe to say im out. I mean every episode we get some random intro with people we have never seen before doing something stupid, then we see raylan do his thing, threaten some people, etc try not to do that chick,etc then he resolves the issue, and we do it all again next week

Yeah, I'm kind of right there with you-I'll give it one more episode, but I'm not optimistic.

That is the crime show formula these days. The first show was more expolsive and now its settled in. You also get the soap opera stuff and I'm finding the characters and stories interesting.
