get the iPad "3" you don't want to be stuck with old tech imo and its a hundred dollar difference if i am not mistaken.

Does anyone know what time this will go on sale at retail stores? If I remember correctly, the iPad 2 went on sale at like 5 PM on release day.

Seriously considering pulling the trigger on a refurbished 2nd gen ipad. Since i really don't see the difference between that and the 3rd gen. I'm not much of a tech person, just want the basics. Has anybody had any experience with a refurbished apple product from the online store?

Their refurb products are very good. They're protected by the same limited warranty as a new product would. Easy win-win.

Got the in the mail today but mines yellw. I love it but damn it's a tight fit and there are no port access holes so I gotta take it out to charge.

Samsung to supply iPad displays after LG, Sharp quality fails to meet Apple’s requirements

Despite numerous ongoing legal battles between the two rivals, Samsung Electronics is reportedly the sole supplier of displays for Apple’s new iPad tablet, which is set to launch this coming Friday. While speaking with Bloomberg, IHS iSuppli analyst Vinita Jakhanwal said that high-resolution display panels supplied by LG Display and Sharp did not meet Apple’s quality requirements. As a result, Apple’s 2,048 x 1,536-pixel Retina Display panels will be supplied exclusively by Samsung at launch. ”The display specifications on the new iPad are very demanding in terms of the very high resolution,” Jakhanwal told Bloomberg. “Achieving this high resolution without compromising on the power consumption and brightness and maintaining Apple’s quality standards are supposedly proving to be a challenge for LG Display and Sharp.”

Samsung is mowing everyone down. I believe the Vita is also a Samsung display too.

Frustrated I can't get my iPad. It's sitting in FedEx and being held back for delivery.

Well, at least we know it has 1GB of RAM. This is going to be a nice jump from the iPad!

Yeah - they are told to hold back the shipments. Sometimes they sneak through but most of the time they don't.

Sucks - the UPS guy and I are friendly enough that he would give it to me. But this is being shipped by FedEx. =\

Or can I get by without one? I keep my iPhone naked.
