Re: The Apple iPad
This upsets me. I feel as though the ipad mini should of had retina already, It might just be me but I sometimes feel like Apple purposely holds back certain tech so that they can use it as a selling point on the next one. I felt like this with the original iPad that didn't have a front facing camera when the tech was widely available. Of course on the second one it was a selling point. Anyone else feel like this?Comment

Re: The Apple iPad
They know they'll sell a bunch of the first one, so they can save money and cut a few things we know they could do now (retina on iPad mini, camera on iPad 1, bluetooth on iPod touch 1gen, etc).
It's good business, just sucks that we feel the initial product is missing something.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Just go and buy what you want. I could sit here and give you 10000 reasons why I like android more than iOS, but that's my opinion. Do the research on your own and stray away from opinions. They are just that.

Although, don't sleep on Microsoft Surface and Windows Phone 8. I went to a launch event yesterday and got to play with the Samsung ATIV, the Asus tablet, and the HTC 8X phone and was blown away. I may use the Windows phone as my main line instead of my iPhone for awhile.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Agreed. I carry both a Galaxy S3 and an iPhone 5, and I like iOS much better, but it's all just my opinion. I think Android is a great platform, but I simply enjoy using iOS more.

Re: The Apple iPad
Just bought an iPad, not exactly sure why but I'm using it a fair amount and almost feel like it wasn't a bad investment lol.
So what cases are you guys using for transport? I'm not looking for a monster, just something to add a little protection when I toss it in my travel bag.
And are you guys using stylus' or not? And if so what apps actually benefit from one? I'm genuinely curious as I'm looking for ways to increase the productivity of my iPad to make me feel better about my impulse purchase.Comment

swivels, has a stand attached, protects when not in use, etc.
As for a stylus, I have one but have probably used it once or twice. It's just not necessary really.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Re: The Apple iPad
love this case, protection and functionality wise. it is a little bulky, so i will pop it out (which is easy) around the house where i know it (should) be safe.
i have a stylus too - don't use it too often, but it's helpful. check out Notability (was $0.99) - you can take notes that save to PDF file. you can sync with Dropbox and Google Drive. it's got a very clever zoom interface that works much better than just scrawling across the screen. i've shown this combo to some of my road warriors at work and they are impressed.Comment

I was surprised with the 64 gb 3 as a Christmas gift. I'm loving it so far! Thanks to Bruins for the link earlier for new iPad users.Comment

Re: The Apple iPad
Hi all. I had mentioned weeks ago that i was interested in a Kindle Fire. My wife, being the awesome person she is, made a mental note of this and bought me the latest iPad (4) for Xmas. It's the 32G with wifi. I haven't broke the seal on the packaging yet as I'm trying to justify if my use will warrant the cost of this thing.
With the Kindle Fire I was thinking I'd use HBO Go , Netflix, Angry Birds and maybe a few other games. What else am I going to find I can do with this iPad to justify the $600.00 price tag?
Thanks.Comment

Re: The Apple iPad
My family just got the iPad mini. First thing I like to say its not an 7" tablet, it's actually an 8" off by .1"
It feels good on the hands, it's quick, and snappy even though its running the older A5 processor. The lack of retina display doesn't effect while reading nor just looking, actually thanks to the smaller screen, it benefits from less pixelation compared to a 10" iPad 2 with basically the same 1024x768. (But the iPad Mini has 163 dpi vs 132 dpi on an iPad 2.) iOS 6 runs smoothly and it's good and buttery.
The cons is lack of retina display, you CANNOT watch HD iTunes content or YouTube (unless you sync vids using iTunes) and if you wanna use this as a camera (for emergencies, I guess,) there's no zoom or flash.
Lastly, a big con is, there's no Jailbreak for things like RetinaPad to make iPhone-only apps or SD apps to make the iPad mini look better while playing some games, or ProTube 2 which allows you to watch/download YouTube videos in HD, which the iPhone 3GS (I own that) can do, at 720p smooth with no problems, 1080p on a 3GS is slow and drains battery, so for this mini, it would be cool. But I recall starting next year, it will be potentially illegal to jailbreak/root iPads and Android tabletsBut they potentially will not notice, but Jailbreak devs could back off, but if they don't and as long as you don't go out of America with a rooted/jail broken device.... You're good
Overall, this device is amazing, even though no retina until 2013's iPad mini, it still looks beautiful and the difference between this and retina is colors. If your willing to drop $329 on 16 GB wifi or $629 on 64 GB Wifi + 4G (family got $529 64 GB Wi-Fi) it's a good investment (until 2013).
Did I mentioned I written all of this on the iPad mini using the OS website? Not Tapatalk or my computer?Last edited by MarvinOida; 12-30-2012, 03:33 PM.Xbox 360 Rosters:
