That's exactly the concern I had.

Just so you know the 09 Panny plasmas (G10 series) have had black level issues with people seeing a drastic change. That's not the model you're getting so you should be fine. Enjoy the Panny.

EDIT: Looks like it is only the G10 series, so you should be good to go.

The only reason I'm considering the second one is because I want to make sure I have that extra space if necessary. What do you guys recommend? Am I being too paranoid by considering the 30-56''?
The second one. I bought the Sanus VMPL250B for the Panny Plasma to which I linked for you, and it works great. Low-profile mounts don't give you much room between rear input jacks and the wall, and just about all of the inputs on this Panny plasma are on the back. You'll need the extra few inches of space, but the TV still doesn't stick out too far.

          Good luck!

Oh man, I love it. I got it for 700 off craigslist. Greatest purchase I have ever made. Picture is just beautiful, great colors and bright. My ps3 games look outstanding in 1080p, The Show made my jaw drop when I saw it in 50 inches of HD perfection. The X1 is very good too I've heard, how are you liking it?

Love it, same TV except its only 720p but for me I cant tell a difference as Im sitting 10-12 feet away from the TV. I went from a 30" CRT HDTV Toshiba which was 1080i native and while it was pretty nice it did have some geometry issues and since the PS3 didnt upconvert the 720p signal to 1080i, it ended up down converting it so it was barely in HD. The moment I threw in Madden 10 I was floored at how much better it looked. Im loving my purchase so far though, glad to hear that you are as well.

Yea it's so hard to discern the difference from 720 and 1080 when you sit that far way. Lol I went from a SDTV to my Panny Viera, so you can imagine how blown away I was.
