Re: Breaking Bad Season 3- Debuts March 21st
SpoilerOf course it hurt her... not only finding out that your mild-mannered husband has been cooking a deadly drug that is ravaging lots of America, but the piles and piles of lies he's had to tell (most of which she's caught him on by this point). It's a pretty complete betrayal of trust, even if he was doing it "for the family". The "fugue state", the deal with the cancer treatment money... these are all MASSIVE lies for a wife to endure from a husband... then he's needling her by showing up in the house, etc. she has a right to be pissed off.
And the part about doing it for the family isn't even really true at this point -- he started doing it for the family, but it's way beyond that at this point, as Walt's getting to live all the things he could only live vicariously in his pre-Heisenberg life and seems to enjoy much of it, even if it's basically caused his life to implode. He's got a LOT of blood on his hands with Jane, Tuco (no guilt for that probably, since he was a psycho meth-head killer), and the plane crash, much of which could've been prevented if he had thought things through and not been following his Heisenberg "itch".Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Breaking Bad Season 3- Debuts March 21st
Yeah, I'm not saying that they're equivalent, just addressing the thought that she was just being a terrible person rather than reacting directly to the last few "months" (or hoewever long it's been) where Walt has betrayed her trust over and over again.
But yeah, Skylar isn't a very sympathetic character, almost like Betty Draper.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Breaking Bad Season 3- Debuts March 21st
My favorite part of this episode was the Gus-Cartel-Twin conference. I wish they'd shoot the old man with the bell. Jesse needs to get over the girl.
SpoilerJudging from the previews it appears that Jesse's meth may be ready for prime-time.Comment

Re: Breaking Bad Season 3- Debuts March 21st
Walt never intended to hurt his family. In fact, the only reason he did what he did was to protect his family. Skylar on the other hand, her actions were motivated to directly hurt Walt. She was completely selfish in her intentions.Comment

Re: Breaking Bad Season 3- Debuts March 21st
That's ignoring the whole fact that Walt's actions were more likely to ruin his family than help them from the jump, regardless of his motivations. He's painted as a noble character, but he really isn't when it comes down to it. He knew before he started cooking that Hank is in the DEA and the ruse probably couldn't last very long (he was just assuming it would last longer than he would live), but he did it anyway. When the chickens come home to roost, he throws tantrums and does things like break into the house... he's provoking her at this point and she reacted thusly.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Breaking Bad Season 3- Debuts March 21st
Walt's drug dealing wasn't selfless. Remember, he could've had his cancer treatment paid for by his rich ex-partners, but his pride wouldn't allow it. He had to "provide for his family" himself, by any means necessary. If Walt truly put his family first, he would've swallowed his pride and accepted the help. This doesn't excuse Skylar's actions, but are they worse than what Walt has done? No way.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. SpoilerThe cartel has his name, Gus wants him alive (for now), Jesse possibly becomes a master chef/cook, Sky's lawyer knows the truth.Comment
