re: Game of Thrones (HBO Sunday nights @ 10PM EST)
I'm still reading the first book. More than halfway there. I don't have HBO so likely won't be seeing this while it airs anyway, but do those first 15 minutes ruin anything later in the first book? Not sure how much was adapted or changed for the series."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Nope it's just the prologue and half of Bran's first chapter. They also added a little introduction to the Starks scene but you are totally safe to watch it.Comment

I don't advise anyone to read (or re-read) A Game of Thrones immediately prior to watching the series. There will inevitably be minor changes/omissions from the book that will probably annoy people who have it fresh on their minds. Certainly seemed to be the case with people I know who read the LOTR books right before the movies came out.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. I just look to the books as a more descriptive source material.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
