Yeah, that is one of the things that is great about this series. Reliving the twists and turns through other people experiencing them the first time. It'll never quite be the same as the first time you read/watched it, but it comes close.

I think I know the exact thing(s) you're talking about. Hell I already know a certain event next season is going to cause a ruckus in this thread. I look forward to the reactions of those that haven't read the novels

The books that this series is based on are the kind of stuff that I usually eat right up, but I'm glad that I hadn't gotten around to reading them yet, so that can enjoy this series as a completely fresh experience.

The character exposition in the early part the episode that some people consider slow, are essential for me to really enjoy the series. Those are the scenes that allow me to invest in the characters and care about what happens to them. High octane all the time works for a movie or a mini series, but a weekly show needs to vary the pacing.

I enjoyed the first episode a lot, but I could have still walked away from the series. This second episode, with its better storytelling, IMO, has me hooked now.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I agree with you, but high octane all the time NEVER works for me. I'm different than you in that I enjoyed the first episode more because it centred around characters I find more interesting. The second episode while still very good I felt ignored some things from the first that I wanted to be even just slightly revisited or acknowledged.

I'm looking forward to next weeks show - In fact, I wish this show was like the first season and a half of breaking bad...or all of deadwood. Those shows I didn't know existed and PLOUGHED through many episodes at once and caught up in a matter of days. that was awesome. Once a week is hardly enough lol

            Show's awesome.

I'm absolutely loving this show. It started a little slow in the first episode, but clearly picked up by the end of it. Two episodes in and I'm easily hooked. LOVED the last episode. I TOO would kill for a pet dire wolf lol.

I loved that they used Northern Inuit dogs as the dire wolves. Reminds me of back home in Alaska. They're mixed with husky and german shepherd, such a beautiful breed.

I wonder how they are going to be portrayed when they are full sized like their mom.

I was saying the same thing to my wife after the episode the other night!!!

That is what happened to me with the first season of Sons of Anarchy. I had 12 or 13 episodes on my dvr before watching them. We were able to watch 2-3 episodes a night, it was awesome.

I am seriously thinking about holding off a few weeks so I'll have several episodes to watch!?! Don't know if I can though...
Don't blame me for what those nitwits said...They don't speak for me!!!

Well, the books let you know that Tyrion has a love of knowledge, and reading so going to the wall is like a learning experience.

Yeah, they did a pretty good job of that in the series too with his whole bit about his brother has the sword and he has the mind. A sword needs a whetstone like his mind needs a book.

He's a great character. Just seems like he thinks the Knights watch and their wall is a sham. He also mentioned about going so he could take a leak off of the edge of the world. So why waste the time with all the other "activities" about.

Anyway, I am sure something substantial will happen at the wall while he's there.

He never said anything that even remotely hinted to him thinking the wall was a sham.

Why WOULDN'T you go see an 800 foot wall made of ice when you are that close and its probably the only time you'll ever be in the North in your entire life. Its silly to think he wouldn't want to do that just because he can afford all the prostitutes he wants.

Yeah, the prostitutes aren't important to Tyrion's character in regards that he's a womanizer, but tie to a past event.
