Re: Parenthood
Thanks for this thread because I would have ignored this show completely. Watched the Pilot and liked it a lot. Great ensemble cast and every story is intriguing. It's almost unfortunate that this show isn't on Showtime or HBO. I can see it going above and beyond on a subscription network*, but it seems like it'll do a good job tackling some everyday issues.
*It's just humorous when you hear two characters "curse" each other out without using curse words."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Parenthood
Yeah, but Parenthood is a PG13 show. Are there certain restrictions on non pay cable stations like FX? Even the gritty The Shield & Breaking Bad and the hilarious Always Sunny In Philadelphia cannot use the F wordThanks for this thread because I would have ignored this show completely. Re: Parenthood
I don't think there are FCC restrictions, but I think all non-subscription channels avoid profanity and genitals unless they're showing Saving Private Ryan or Schindler's List.
Apparently anything goes with those two. History channel also shows (or used to show) nudity on "History of Sex."Comment
