Interesting technology, but I would be annoyed if I had to get up to run to the bathroom or grab a bag of chips to come back to my set being turned off.

Maybe you can create an EG body double to trick the TV?

It says it pops right back on the minute you resume watching. Scary.

Not interested in 3D tv at all. LCD and Blu Ray is good enough for me.

Honestly, 3D is the least exciting thing about this kind of TV for me. The recognition technology would get me to buy it, not the ability to show 3D, since I doubt I'll even have 3D channels by then.

That's just weird. I'd probably keep that option off.

I can turn my own TV on and off, thank you very much.

Maybe next we'll have the telescreens watching our every move... (1984 reference, BTW)

I'm sure some will jump on board when released, but I rarely jump on board the 1st generation of new tech. Rather wait for a better price and get one with all the bugs and kinks out.

Not interested in either feature...would suck if i'm in the kitchen making dinner and the tv turns off all the time.

Also, what people who can afford tv's like this rely on the speaker in the tv? If you're buying something this expensive odds are you mute the speaker and use a surround sound system...

Just seems like a waste of money, components that just drive the price of the set higher with no real benefit.

Pretty much. Tv speakers are crappy when compared to a surround sound system. So you lose half the "features" of this tv from the starting blocks.

All the sensor stuff is worthless. If people are concerned about wasting money by having their tv on when they aren't in the room, you can turn it off yourself. Concerned about your kids, well just teach them to obey your rules about not touching or sitting to close to the tv.

A lot of wasted money that could have been put into improving the picture, which is the main reason you buy a tv.
