Re: Kick A**
Was there a bunch of guys up in arms on here when Role Models came out?
I still do not see how cussing, cussing in a movie no less, is a sign of the times and degradation of American values/morals/ethics whatever. The fact that people are raising such a fuss over a couple words is probably making things worse than Chloe actually using the words.
For anybody that has seen the movie, Kick *** brings up several topics/themes that, to me, are far greater things to worry about about our society than a child actress doing her job.
Is it not that she cuss it is that the mom was cool with it. That in my opinion is a bad parenting skills. She wouldn't let her see Wanted, but yet she would let her daughter do a movie like wanted. Oh well. Dollars speak, that is what that is about. If my daughter was an actress she would not be doing that role at 13, but that is just my opinion. That is why it is wrong to me. But that is me and just my opinion. I know kids say words like that every day, but do they do it in front of their parents and like it is every day speech. Maybe they do. I know mine don't, but that is just my opinion again. So if a 13 year old girl is in the film, then we can take a 13 year old to see this movie? Cool! Because I am sure a 13 year old knows it is fake. So would you take your kid to go see this film, I mean it is all good they even have a 13 year old in the movie, so why can't I take my 13 year old daughter.

Re: Kick A**
Loved the movie, everything people have said so far is true.
Scottdau, I understand where you are coming from, but you have to understand the business. Chole Moretz and her mom made a smart decision by taking this role. It's easy to be typecast'd in Hollywood, and taking this role will allow her to do more movies than ones like 500 Days of Summer and whatnot. Is it really bad parenting when you are letting your child (assuming) live out their dream. The cursing or killing wasn't even the worst in the movie (if you go into the movie with the mindset that this would never happen in a million years). The other scenes one person mentioned in the thread got to me more than what Chole did.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Re: Kick A**
I am guess I am tired of other people pushing their morals on everyone else and then acting as if their way is the only way.
Besides in the grand scheme of things, this is hardly the demise of America morally, as was earlier stated.Comment

Whether or not I do, is besides the point.

The one thing I like about this movie is it looks like the good guys get their *** kick a lot. Something that I always felt was missing in Super Hero movies.

Re: Kick A**
bk, I am pretty sure I have seen you bitch about individuals swearing in front of your kids. If you're willing to make a stink over such a minor issue of an F-bomb being dropped when you're out for dinner, then don't get all in a huff when others complain about kids being given the green light to run around screaming curse words by their parents...for money no less.
Yes, it is a degradation of our morals. You wouldn't think of saying "c_nt" or "f_ck" in front of your parents, let along expect them to root you on when you do so. It may just be fantasy, but you can't tell me when you were a kid such an act would be acceptable.
And please show me where I made a stink about an f-bomb being dropped while out at dinner. Not to mention how is that remotely relevant to this scenario.
This kid is a professional actress getting paid to act. I guess some people just live to make something out of nothing no matter how ridiculous it is.
Demise of America's morals, give me a break. Just what we need, the moral police, so we can become one step closer to becoming a theocratic, fundamental, government.Last edited by bkrich83; 04-18-2010, 06:18 PM.Comment

Re: Kick A**
But apparently she is allowed to watched Rated R movies. In that Washington Post interview, when asked about Let Me In and vampires she name dropped Interview With A Vampire and made it seem like it was one of her favorite movies.
