Certainly makes for a great teaser and piece of viral marketing. I question if the plot outlined could actually hold interest for 100 minutes, but the visual style seems promising and at least someone is taking it seriously. I'll be disappointed if its just for a game, as then it will just be another fighting game.

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
It looks much better than the other one's but Michael Jai White needs to stick to fighting/stunts and stop ruining scenes with his horrible acting.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
I would've liked to see the guy who played Doakes in Dexter. One dude has blades coming out of his hands, we saw Scorpion's weapon being used...I'm fairly sure that, while it'd be a more realistic approach to the story, you'll still see the crazy things such as Sub-Zero's iceball/freezing people, people doing crazy flying kicks, etc.
Random, but Michael Jai White is a perfect Jacks.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
The only thing that makes me think its not a movie is that we haven't heard anything about it. Usually you hear stuff about a director and actors tied to the movie, before a trailer is released (let alone a 8 minute one).Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
That was my thought.
I could see it being the equivalent of concept art for a movie. Get cheap actors and use it as a focus group type thing.Comment

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
yeah, a mortal kombat movie would have been talked about before a nearly 8 minute video dropped a week before E3. 2013 seems a way off as well, so there's gotta be a game tie in at least. Boon has even been flat out saying MK9 would be a reboot.Comment

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
Exactly how I feel. Loved the original movie, but this reboot looks awesome if true.
Although, I wish Bridgette Wilson was reprising her role as Sonya Blade.

Re: New Mortal Kombat Movie?
This isn't a movie clip.
It's a clip made by a director trying to get a shot at making the MK movie coming out in 2013.
a proof-of-concept reel that film director Kevin Tancharoen ("Fame") put together with the help of fight sequence co-ordinator Larnell Stovall ("Undisputed III").http://flotn.blogspot.com
