Re: Conan
This show has been disappointing lately...I love Conan, but man I really feel like the show was at it's peak 3-4 years ago.Comment

Re: Conan
The popular douchiness trendy-type crowd (read: fans of internet memes, Jon Stewart, etc) got ahold of Conan and now he's trying to cater to those types every single day.
I don't know exactly how to describe it, but that's how I feel.Comment

Re: Conan
I agree with you guys about the show not being great as of late. Some of the things he said on the Marc Maron podcast (someone posted it a few pages back, good listen) kind of resonated with me about why I don't like this show as much.
This is hilarious though:

Re: Conan
) I wish more bits would be written to be naturally funny and less an attempt to create viral clips.
Obviously there are legal issues to prevent him from using old bits as they were; but even without that you also get the sense that he's really trying hard to not rely on old ideas. I can admire that, but I'd replicate what I could and mix in the new stuff around that. These new ideas just seem to blend together now.
I'll be damned if I don't love some "Mascots that shouldn't dunk" dunk contest though.Comment

Re: Conan
The Mascots That Shouldnt Dunk are awesome, as are the "fake" songs that they have those in the audience guess. Those are old-style Conan things.Comment

Pretty much how I feel about it too. I can see how he feels that way though; the internet kept his name out there and rallied support...and typically the internet goes for the stuff you describe (thus the description, I suppose...) I wish more bits would be written to be naturally funny and less an attempt to create viral clips.

Mascosts that shouldn't dunk is great.
I have been loving the Will Ferrel shaving thread videos this week.
"The razor sleeps for no one!"
^They are also an example of internet friendly bits that can be viral on the internet. Short one-ish minute clips of Will threatening Conan.Last edited by Steel5; 04-21-2011, 11:56 PM.Comment
