I ask myself this every episode. I think they dumped it.

Also I worked a fundraiser last week that Seth Meyers presented. And Steffon made an appearance. Quite funny stuff. One of the jokes (the boom box) even made it into this past Saturdays appearance.

I just looked at Wikpedia and the last What Up With That sketch was on May 14th. I have no idea why they haven't done a new one yet. Keenan is still in the cast and the sketches are funny.

I'm going to be disappointed if Timberlake doesn't show up this week to do a Barry Gibbs talk show sketch with Fallon.
I would expect both Timberlake and Amy Poehler to show up. Doesn't Fallon usually show up on SNL when she does?

I also miss What Up With That.

I miss the Scared Straight sketches with Kenan.

Looking on Wikipedia at the recurring SNL sketches based on seasons, every season has between 6-10 new recurring per year. This year, one. Pretty much all that needs to be said with the level of writing shown this year.

            Which is the new one?

That one is not too bad.

Here's what I don't like about it - and they do this to all their little skits like this one.

Why do they have to cut to the teacher that's trying to tell everyone how wrong the skit is?

The point of the skit is that it's wrong and it's a horrible perspective of Japanese culture. People get it. We don't need the cut-away to the teacher to explain that the skit is just a parody.

                SNL loves to do this.

Another thing I hate is when they have these celebrity impersonation singers and the singer will randomly throw something out after their verse.

Why? What's the point. We know it's Christina Aguilera. I don't need to hear her sing an over the top song and then have her finish with a flat line like: "I'm still dirty!"

                Ugh, I hate it.

                  Re: Saturday Night Live

I just assume the teacher cutaway is to be PC and cover their *** in case someone randomly sees it and decides to bitch about it.

The impression ones, I see what you're saying. I think worse than the stupid lines (like the one you describe would be in an Aguilera impression) is that they deliver it like "Yeah, I just said that!"

                      Re: Saturday Night Live

I thought it was a good episode. I still don't like Kristen Wiig's "Don't make me sing" character, but Fallon's "Don't make me dance" guy took enough away from Wiig that it wasn't a bad sketch. The Tebow sketch was great.

Everything else...pretty heavy on nostalgia, but that's obvious. It still worked. I really liked how Jimmy adjusted his voice to match Samberg in the mirror sketch, doing for him (Samberg) what Seinfeld did for Fallon in their Weekend Update thing years ago. Very cool.

In all the old Fallon sketches, I was really hoping for Z105 with Joey Mack. Maybe next time.

I thought Fallon episode was decent... Really loved the Tebow skit but was disappointed JT didn't make an appearance (I find JT hilarious)

I thought the episode was by far the best this year. Sure it was heavy on nostalgia, but that was to be expected. Loved Samberg as Nicholas Cage. The opening monologue when Fallon listed three iconic sketches and then said "and I laughed and ruined all of them." I thought that was funny that he admitted that.

I haven't watched it but I'm gonna guess one is definitely Janet Jackson hosted Suck Corks sketch.

One that jump out is the Debbie Downer with Lindsay Lohan. But Fallon laughed so much with his pal Horatio it's probably impossible to guess the three.

He named Debbie Downer, Cowbell...and I can't remember the other. Wasn't the Cork Sucker one.
