I thought it was one of the better episodes I've seen in awhile. The first half was nonstop laughter.

re: Saturday Night Live
Based on any interviews I've seen of the guy, Russell Brand, for me, usually swings (pretty quickly) between "Hey, he's pretty funny!" and "Okay...now shut the hell up." Last night was pretty much all funny, so that was cool.
And since I can't think of any bad sketches, I'll just figure it was all good last night.Comment

re: Saturday Night Live
I fell asleep during a commercial and will watch the rest later, but his monologue had to be one of the longest in SNL history. It was funny, but, wow, it lasted nearly 10 minutes, I think."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

re: Saturday Night Live
Thought Miley did a relatively good job last night. Some of the skits were lame. She did a pretty good Justin Bieber impression on the Miley Cyrus Show with the wink, nod, point routine. I also liked the Black Eyed Peas skit. Taboo: "I am from The Matrix!"
Also what is with those French sketches? That's the second one of those I've seen. None of it makes any sense but I can't help but laugh. Is it just supposed to be silly?Comment

French sketches? I wonder if Hulu removed it. Not sure I've seen them.
Miley did well considering the material. One of the things I dislike most with music hosts is everything revolving around music. I think the show suffers when their skits try to find humor in music like the moisturizer one and the gross old people on a boat.
I do like their trailer parodies though. And Charlie Sheen inadvertently wrote one of the better talk show cold opens.

French sketch? Hulu seems to always remove sketches about france. They did the same when Emma Stone did her french sketch a few months ago.Comment

Darn it Hulu. I didn't know they were removing sketches. I thought they only removed music performances.
And last night was pretty cool. I like that Miley was able to laugh about that impersonation. I also like that they didn't break the wall by having her be Miley Cyrus alongside Miley Cyrus. Though I was kinda hoping she'd be the host this time around and use the same exaggerated expressions.

re: Saturday Night Live
Hulu removes anything that Saturday Night Live asks them to. Its to protect themselves and Hulu from any kind of claims against their materials.
They did the same when Conan O Brien had a Beatles or Rolling Stone song, i dont remember, playing during one of his last shows on NBC, and NBC had the segment pulled down because it cost them a fortune. Conan of course knew that, NBC had to cover themselves and took it down.Comment
