    Re: Saturday Night Live

I don't watch Saturday Night Live and haven't for years but I thought that since Louis CK was hosting I'd give it a shot.

That was a mistake. Completely worthless.

For Louis...I thought the monologue was good, though that was him just doing stand-up and not really an SNL thing. I really liked the Lincoln short too, but that was about it. Very forgettable episode.

Last night wasn't bad, and Nasim Pedrad was actually in sketches! Minor roles, but still...ON THE AIR!

I liked his monologue as well.

I also thought the joke with the horn was gonna be messing with Louis CK's timing but then it stopped happening and the skit showed its true colors: being boring.

I fell asleep last night. Tired. Will watch yesterday's episode soon.

It appears to me that they are trying to turn Kate McKinnon into the new Kristen Wiig (Meaning her being in the majority of the sketches). She was in nearly all the sketches. Her Ellen Degeneres impression is pretty spot on.

Was she in most of them this week? Didn't even notice. I know some episodes she has been, but it's different that Wiig in that McKinnon is playing a character in a sketch, and not having it written around any wacky character quirks.

Cecily Strong's been pretty prominent the past few weeks, I think. They're working Aidy Bryant in more too.

Kind of weird that Vanessa Bayer has dropped off. It really seemed like they were casting her more last season, and she has the Miley Cyrus impression to lean on. Unless Miley's haircut ruined SNL's impression.

Not sure why Bayer and Pedrad are barely seen anymore. Cecily Strong seems to play the same character voice in every sketch she's in.

Thought maybe Pedrad was doing some writing but haven seen anything to indicate that.

The voice in the Girlfriends Talk Show from this weekend was the same as the Girl from a Party - enough that for a second, I thought they gave the character a full sketch.

I think she's only just spoken with her normal voice in other sketches.

I can look at her all night but her character voice is limited indeed.

She also had the same voice for the Puerto Rican girl on Weekend Update.

Yep. It was also eerily similar to the McDonald's sketch with Moynihan this past weekend.

With the holiday break, it's been a while since this thread has seen any action. SNL returns new tonight with Jamie Foxx/Ne-Yo.

Next week with Martin Short/Paul McCartney.

Just watched the Jamie Foxx episode. To be honest it was pathetic for the most part. The cold open was not funny, the bitch game show was dumb, as was the other game show. The Christmas tree skit was stupid along with the crystals and Maine skits. The only part I laughed at was during Weekend Update with Mrs. Claus and Ding Dong.

Possibly the worst episode I've seen in quite some time. Don't think I laughed once.
