Ah, very true. I forgot about the NBA. Since we don't have a team here in KC or anywhere close, we don't get anything on the FS networks. But do those three shows and sports demand double the price?

Probably not. But Fox knows they can gouge them because they have 3 massively popular shows and a virtual monopoly on local professional sports. At some point, Cablevision and Dish will have to pay up because I would think once NBA season starts they'll start seeing a bunch of people switching. If they aren't already.

The NBA Season starting will have no effect on Cablevision since it doesn't even get the local FSN channels.

It sure sux, but Fios isn't any better, good luck trying to watch your season Yankees games in HD or any of the local sports in HD. NO MSG+ NO MSG HD, NO FIOS for me.

FIOS has all MSG channels(no HD) & YES (HD). They also offer channels CV doesn't offer. NFL Network, WGN & HD-NET to name a few.

Trust me I'm not gonna miss CV. I was planning on switching to FIOS soon any way. The issue with FOX just gave me the excuse to do it sooner

See, I wouldn't be able to live with MSG in SD. It might seem like a petty reason, but that's a complete deal-breaker for me.

NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL all on Fox and Fox Sports affiliates will have people calling in demand for them to put the channels back on.

I'm glad I have DirecTV, I enjoy paying 60$ a month for all the channels I desire and an extra clip for the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

It's Cablevision or bust for me thanks to the way the city breaks down cable rights here.

Doesn't matter to me anyway as I watch everything online. If my sister didn't like watching television at home every now and then, I would cancel all cable and just use the internet.

Yikes that sucks. That effects NFL games, Baseball Playoffs wow. The only hiccup I had with directv is that VS went away for a couple months.

Why do you think it's all cablevision, the network that fox and my 9 are the ones who pulled the stations, they want much more money almost 80 million more a year plus wanna be paid more then ABC/NBC/CBS, why should they get paid more?


I know cablevision are snakes, but its not always them either. It takes two to tango.

Go enjoy fios, but after that first introductory first year, you will be back because with Fios you will be paying out the butt.

I pay CV 220 a month now for the triple play. The 2 year promotion with FIOS is LOCKED@ $150.00 a month(between 180-200 after the promotion)this includes the Multi-Room DVR(which CV doesn't even offer) & much faster Internet, Showtime & HBO. A back-up battery pack in case I lose electrical power good for 8 hours which allows me to still use my phone(CV again has no such service)

Losing MSG in HD & a couple of other channels isn't a big deal when the product offered seems better. Everyone I know that has FIOS loves it. They say the picture quality is amazing, the internet is blazing fast & the phone calls quality is very good.

All those things that are important to me so we'll see

I've had it with Cablevision's nonsense and made the switch to DirecTV back in 2008, and have been very happy with that decision.

Cablevision has a full page ad in the bergen record sports section today blaming FOX. Pathetic. First they wouldn't pick up NFL Network, and now this. I recommend everyone to switch and send them a message. If this isn't resolved by the time the Yankees possibly are playing in the World Series, people around here are really going to lose it.
