Re: Friday Night Lights Season 5
Is it ending because of low ratings or they don't want to water it down?
Next season could be ****. It would beSpoilerVince as a senior vs. The young phenom kid battling for QB. I bet they end up offering the wife something like the superintendent job in order to keep him.
One thing I didn't like this season was they completely cut out West Dillon. The football aspect of this season wasn't that good at all.Comment

Re: Friday Night Lights Season 5
Man, I'm going to be so sad to see this show go.
Did they ever say what happened to JD McCoy and his pops? McCoy would've been the same grade as Vince (junior), but he wasn't on the show this year, neither was the coach they brought in to replace Taylor.
Seeing Tyra was nice, although not a big fan of the new hairstyle.
I don't know how they are going to wrap everything up in a 45-minute episode; this thing deserves 2 hours, imo.Currently Playing:

Amazing last show. Although I wish they had left who won a secret.
Tammy looked smokin hot in that last scene.Comment

SpoilerJust watched Episodes 11-13.
I felt episode 11 was rushed through, i believe we had 4 games in 1 episode.
The ending of this show was perfect. Loved seeing the ending. The last pass play in the championship ending at Taylor new school was great. I was on pins and needles right there, definitely thought they were gonna have them lose the game.
Luke going to the military made perfect sense for him.
I thought everyone was suppose to return for the final episode. I thought it would be at Matt and Julie's wedding after I saw he proposed to her.
I guess we were all wrong on the guesses that someone dies which brings everyone back to Dillion, not Christmas break.Comment

I bet they considered the paralyzed guy dieing(I'm bad with names), but that would have been a complete rip off of remember the titans. I wish they had them lose, or just not say. That part ended up being a little cheesy.Comment

Re: Friday Night Lights Season 5
Great ending to a great show. I felt like they wrapped up everyone's storyline in a realistic way and you were given a nice glimpse into the future lives of the characters.
I was surprised we didn't see 3 Season 1-2 regulars in the finale, but it wasn't a huge issue since they haven't been recurring characters like Saracen or Riggins.
In a way it's sad that more people didn't buy into this show because it deserved a larger audience, but in another way, I'm glad I was part of the group of people that gave the show a chance, as I was certainly rewarded with outstanding television.
Friday Night Lights will go down as one of my all-time favorite shows. Thanks to all who worked on the show for producing such a great product.Currently Playing:

Re: Friday Night Lights Season 5
Great finale. Still think they could have got one more season out of it, but it was still amazing how it finished. I've watched the show from day 1 and I loved it, but the last couple of seasons really took it to another level. The wire is my favorite show of all time, but this might be #2.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Friday Night Lights Season 5
Street, Lyla and Smash weren't in the last episode. Smash hadn't been back after his storyline in Season 3 and Lyla only appeared in 1-2 episodes in Season 4 and that's been it for her. Street was in the beginning of Season 5.
I'm glad that Coach Taylor saw the light and allowed his family to move on. I think that early morning phone call from Buddy helped him realize it was time to go. After the way he was booted from the Panthers, there was no way he could've gone back there.Currently Playing:

Re: Friday Night Lights Season 5
Finally got around to watching it last night. Very good ending, one of my favorite shows of all time. I'm sad to see it go, it's like losing a family member or friend or something since I feel like I know all the characters inside and out and they've been part of me for the last 5 years. I started watching it in high school and now I finish it a few years deep into college, so I feel like I've grown with the characters. I think they could have got another season out of it too.
Ok, I'm done with the cheesyness. I feel like a woman watching a soap opera.
I'm still kinda mad that this is not on a major network except for when they re-air it in spring when nobody's thinking about football.[NYK|DAL|VT]

That's when it needed to be on. Not everyone has a DVR and a big part if their target audience are at games Thursday and Friday.
Having it on in the spring is genius because people are suffering from withdrawal.Comment
