Holy hell, how did you get it for that?

I bought the M55 back over the summer and paid $949 (iirc). If I could get a 60 inch for that price I'd go ahead and get another one, even though I'm currently at my max on TV's right now.

Dare I ask how she managed to get it for that price?

I got the M65-C3 a few weeks ago for about $850 when it was all said and done. I missed it when it was on sale for 1299 through Black Friday so it was back up to 1699.

TigerDirect had it at 1169 for a couple of hours before it sold out so I got Amazon to PM. Had ~$200 in Amazon Reward Points, Amazon offered a $50 instant rebate for Prime members, then it was delayed during transit and Amazon knocked another $85 off as an apology.

S/N, I had a 50" Panasonic Viera Plasma 3D TV and used the 3D functionality maybe twice. I bought it just before ESPN stopped broadcasting in 3D. Personally, I think it's still more of a gimmick than anything and don't know anyone else with a 3DTV either. Going 4k or 8k is a better step toward the future than 3D and I'll never spend additional money trying to get 3D as a feature.

My wife is the marketing manager of an electrical company here. They do huge promotions for their contractors, to give you an example of just how much they spend on marketing.......I had $32,000 dollars worth of polo Columbia shirts delivered to my house in October. At this moment they have $64,000 in Columbia fishing shirts headed to my house as we speak. These are all promotional "give away's", which are given away to customers who spend a lot. Well to get to the point of the TV and Best Buy, every year they do a Superbowl promotion where they give away an entire entertainment setup......TV, surround sound, receiver, wires, etc. My wife spends $6,000 to $8,000 at Best Buy every year and its all put on my Best Buy card so I get the points.

So to shorten the story, she was in there buying the "Superbowl" promotion setup for work and the sales guy suggested this as an "extra" incentive package.....basically "Buy this expensive $2,500 TV + Surround Sound + etc and you can have this TV for $594." She asked what was wrong with it, because the tag said $999. He said a women bought it yesterday, she didn't measure her space correctly and it wouldn't fit in her entertainment center.

At this point she called me and asked if she should grab it. I asked the guy what the return policy was and he said standard return policy. So I told her, go ahead and buy it. I went at lunch to pick it up, ran home real quick to set it up and make sure the picture looked fine & no dead pixels. Sure enough it was brand new, everything still in their unopened bags...remote...screws....even the TV. Did a super quick setup and the picture looks great. All in all it appears I've got a steal.

Once I get home this evening I will be running a calibration on it.

So I heard that some movies are going to start coming out in 4k this year like man of steel even though yeah it is not a new movie. So my question is how much do you think the 4k bluray movies will cost compared to regular bluray?

The PS4 needs to update and allow 4K movies if they even can. I've read conflicting reports. I don't think I'll buy a 4K player just for that.

So question about 4k since I now own a 4k tv. What do I need to utilize it properly? If there special 4k hdmi cables? Plus how is streaming 4k content going to work, seems like massive files sizes, no?

You're fine. If you use a receiver, make sure it at least passes through 4K if not decoding/upscaling it itself. Same with the player if you plan on getting UHD BD's in the future.

If your HDMI cables are pre-2013 (1.4 spec), then you're limited to 24 or 30 FPS. 60 FPS can only be applied with HDMI 2.0.

Do you have Directv? Correct me if I'm wrong but the Vizio's supposedly are not compatible with Directv's 4K programming.

Anyone having lip sync issues with their Vizio M series tvs? Just bought a 50" last night and the lip sync is off by a half a second and it's driving me crazy. I've toggled with the audio calibration but no luck. I have Directv.

If the video is ahead of the audio, you might still have some remedies. It's tougher to deal with and tweak when the audio is ahead of the video, though (which, given the fact that TV's tend to be the ones with latency, might be what you're dealing with).

                              Do you have a receiver?

No, but was thinking of picking up a soundbar possibly this evening.

Changing the hdmi inputs or cables won't help?
