But when I cast a show like Breaking Bad which is UHD...I check Display Information and it says; Resolution: 3840x2160 and HDR: NO .... if I cast from the tablet for Netflix, will it not have HDR capability and only can do Dolby Vision? Or do I need to use an external player like a Roku Premiere and hook it up to enable HDMI subsampling? Was hoping I wouldn't need to invest in another peripheral and just stick to casting from the remote...

Any info would be great! Thanks all!
It's quite likely that shows such as Breaking Bad simply do not support HDR. I read a lot about that set and you should not need to buy a Roku or anything to get 4K movies or tv shows using Netflix. It sounds like you are getting what you are supposed to if you say it shows 3840x2160.

Not much on Netflix apparently has HDR. Check this article out on it.

If I were you I'd try to go play Daredevil and see if it shows HDR. If it does then you know you are good to go.

That's one thing I hated the most about the Vizio P. That tablet as a remote. It drove me nuts. Especially when only a handful of apps supported casting. You can't get Amazon prime on that Vizio because of Amazon's beef with google. In order to get many apps you need another peripheral which is a bit annoying.

Can't you just use the Xbox One or PS4 to do those apps?

Yea that's what many people do when their TVs don't have certain apps. I personally prefer using the tv apps since they tend to get updated faster. Look at YouTube on the Xbox slim or PS4 pro as an example. They still don't have YouTube with HDR. The Amazon app doesn't work well on the Xbox slim yet and needs an update. If you're using the tv app you also consume less energy lol..

Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, & Marco Polo all show in their HDR glory / Dolby Vision....

I just realized this...and had a 'duh' moment...that just b/c it is UHD, doesn't necessarily mean it is in HDR...

But man...even these UHD shows, like Breaking Bad & Lemony Snickets still look freakin' amazing!

Thanks for that article @ODogg....Great read....

What I'm really lookin' forward to is Marvel's Iron Fist....will look amazing in Dolby Vision!

Your TV is not UHD Premium Certified.

In order to get certification, the display must output 1000 nits of brightness during playback of HRD content.

No Hisense displays on the market are UHD Premium certified.

I believe the peak brightness in HDR Mode on the Hisense C Series is about 400 nits

That's what I was thinking. I knew that I didn't have the premium signal. I just thought it wouldn't play if my tv couldn't output it. Honestly though, the regular 4k uhd stream good enough for me at this price. Really impressed with this budget tv. Thanks for the link Joe.

Anybody with a ks8000 have any issues with the Netflix App?

I'm able to get into Netflix but it'll just start playing the last show I was on and won't let me use the remote to control anything like pause/go to main menu.

Have you tried killing it and resetting the app? You hold down on a remote button for 5 seconds to do that but I cannot recall offhand which one it is

Holding down the power button until the SUHD words appear on the screen usually helps. Also, make sure your tv has auto update enabled.

I'd recommend the H8C over that one, the 65" of that is $799.

Any of you new Samsung TV owners get the HBO Now free subscription (mine is for 9 months) to work?

I spent over 2 hours messing with it last night and could not get it to work. Then I realized, why am I even doing this, I subscribe to HBO already, LOL.
