Not been a huge issue and honestly I don't know if its the TV or my PS4 Pro or my receiver. But hearing you say you've had issues makes me wonder if it's the TV.
I had a big issue with audio dropouts on this TV and my Sonos playbar but I think that was more of a Sonos issue.

However, I don't have the money right now to get a new receiver but even if I did I want to wait a little longer for Dolby Atmos to mature a little more before getting one.

I do have that Denon one you told me about bookmarked Scott. Hoping more receivers like that add the "height" speakers as an actual input though before buying. I know you also gave me a link to one for like $900 but if the wife found out I got that she'd murder me so I may end up getting that one but it'll have to come down price wise.

EDIT: My Onkyo is only a few years old (got it in 2012) but I know, I know, ancient in tech terms!!

      Here is what I'm using:

      Onkyo TX-NR709 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver
Be sure you checkout accessories4less.com for some great deals on receivers.

I do have that sexy marantz you linked me to bookmarked there. If i was single I'd have already ordered, LOL. my wife is right though, i've been on a wild spending spree for tech since last fall so I am going to have to wait awhile.

maybe if we get enough drop outs in audio while the wife is watching though she'll be like "can you just fix this???" lol

While it is worrying me that it may be a issue with the TV and not my cable box or something because I tend to have bad luck with tech and I have only had this TV since like mid early November and my last TV that I had for almost 10 years in the last few years or so got to the point where sound would go away randomly and to get the sound back I had to turn the TV off and want for it to completely turn off and then turn it back on.

Well you could always just get a receiver and bypass the tv sound entirely and run all your stuff directly to the receiver. In fact I may end up doing that if my issue becomes troublesome but i really don't want to do that since it would require significant time to reroute everything and set it all back up to my liking.

Hearing some issues with the ks8000 with the sound and panel coming loose, I'm thinking about getting the ks9000 as it's a better quality build.

Or you could save a few hundred from doing that and get the curved KS8500 which doesn't suffer from the bezel separation issue and is usually about $100 cheaper than the KS8000.

Go read rtings.com - they advise against going to the KS9000 series. Not worth the extra money at all.

If you're leaning around that same price, look into the Sony 900E

So I just looked at Costco and the flat panel KS8000 equivalent there, the KS800D, is $1479 and the curved panel KS8500 equivalent there, the KS850D, is $1779.

I'm thinking Samsung is starting to try to push out these flat panels and now that demand for the curved is higher the price has shot up.

Ok guys. Besides the Samsung KS8000 what is the next best TV to get that will be used mostly for gaming? After starting to play The Show 17 I want a new TV.

Decided to go with the 43" Sony X800D. Under $700 for 4K and full HDR with wide color gamut.
