It goes on general sale next Wednesday 29/3.......Nice TV but almost double the price of the 2016 models.
Is it worth the extra dollar or would you say shop around for a KS8000?

According to rtings the new models aren't looking that much better if better at all. They're still recommending the 2016 model over the new ones. The 2016 models have better contrast among other things compared to the new models. I personally wouldn't pay double for the new models.

I was just about to post the same thing, rtings makes the case the new models aren't better at all really. In fact, the general theme from CES this year was that the big leap was in last year's TVs and this year was refinement. LG's OLEDs are becoming thinner and adding more support for different HDR signals. Samsung focused so much on their pixel technology...Mainly because they didn't really make a big leap and everyone is kind of waiting on their OLED solution. Sony dipped their toes in OLED tech with one model.

Overall, I was happy to see what I saw at this year's CES because picking up these 2016 models in a couple of months with be alot more affordable than having to shell out cash for the 2017's.

Though I will say, that Sony 900E looks sexy AF lol.

After much back and forth, my wife wanting a curve screen, so I purchased the Sharp 65N900U via ebay/buydig.

          At 1150 shipped I just couldn't resist.

This is basically a Hisense 65H10B rebadged, as Hisense has brought the Sharp name for the next 5 years to gain market share in the US.

This set has gotten good reviews from overseas review sites. Expecting delivery by Monday

Thanks for posting.............this would explain the lack of stock of the KS8000,it also had £100 discount plus a 4K player thrown in.
Registered my details with the store for a stock alert, fingers crossed they call me soon.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

                    Backstory and Question:

I just bought the Samsung KS8000 (65") from BB within the past week, I did not purchase the BB warranty at the time of purchase, I did inquire if I could buy it at a later date and they told me within the next 14 days I could. I figured I'd look elsewhere for a TV warranty and if I couldn't find a deal that I'd just go back and get the BB one.

Now I have the TV up and running, settings, etc etc... and I noticed today on the top right (backside) of the TV the back panel is separating, roughly a 3 inch wide separation. Should I return and exchange the set or should I purchase the BB warranty, see if they can fix in house (not sure if they can) and see how the warranty plays out (ie. exchange for same model, upgrade etc..).

I'd appreciate any responses and if anyone has had this issue/problem.

                    Thanks.

Take it back for an exchange. Then if you feel the BB Warranty is too pricey, pick up a square trade warranty

It was an certified open box purchase, would it need to be exchanged for another open box set? If not then I'm gonna do as y'all say and just exchange it.
