Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
And really all I need for gaming is true HDR and reasonable input lag. The TV I have now has great input lag, but doesn't do true HDR because it doesn't have a wide color gamut.Last edited by PVarck31; 12-06-2018, 07:09 PM.Comment

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I don't watch a lot of movies so I'm not so worried about that. And it seems to be pretty good for gaming according to most reviews so it seems like it meets in the middle for me.

HDR on my x90065F literally gives me a headache

Nah just time to upgrade. Get yourself an OLED and you’ll feel right at home but with a better tv.

But it has great VRR performance and the 120hz panel helps in not only games but SportsComment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
So a few months back I sold my B7 to get the C8 so that I can game in HDR as the b7 was terrible to me for gaming in hdr due to how dim it got
I loved the c8 but wanted a better gaming tv so i put it in the room and bought the q8fn which is my gaming tv due to how superior it is for gaming
I can play black ops 4 with VRR with just 6ms of input lag at 1080p or at 4k with 15ms of input lag with free sync...How can anyone not love that
It is bright and has deep blacks and high contrast.
Sure my C8 is a better PQ for movies and has the best blacks but gaming was important to me so I went with that
Last night i plugged my x to the C8 just to game in the room for a bit and i played red dead 2 for 45 minutes and the dumb mini map burned into my tv
I went in to the the pixel refresher and nothing. it was still there and it was upsetting me.
I got insurance with best buy who covers burn in and they are replacing it today. But that tv will not see gaming ever again...I know this is a rare situation as B7 never had issues for me with gaming but sucks that it happenedComment

Now I’m gonna be paranoid playing my ps4 on my c8. 45 minutes and burn in? And it’ll be hard to avoid for me since guest come over and we play 2k at least for two hours.
Were you play straight 45 minutes without pausing or cut scenes?

Not sure why that happened but it was highly upsettingComment

Played straight and then finished and noticed the mini map still there when I went to search for a demo in the XBOX store. I then ran some slides in red, blue, green and grey and saw it more...Ran the pixel thing for an hour and again later for another hour and it was still there.
Not sure why that happened but it was highly upsetting
Yeah I’m gonna disconnect the ps4 now. I don’t have the same warranty as you and I don’t want the paranoia whenever my nephew wants to play Spider-Man and web around for an hour. It’s ridiculous that 45 minutes would burn in like that. I’ll just have people play in my game room on the qled.
I was thinking if you played a really long time like 8 hours would do something like that.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I bought my first samsung dolby atmost soundbar this weekend the 850n model for 1000 dollars. It is pricey for a soundbar but I wanted to try it and if not blown away I would just return it
I get home and it syncs easily with my qled tv and the Xbox One X
Let me tell you that I was blown away when playing the few games with Atmos and movies. This sound bar is beyond amazing and packs a big subwoofer with a powerful punch
playing black ops in surround mode is amazing.
The issue I have is that not many games have atmos and if I want atmos I must give up free sync on the qled.
I might return it for a non atmos one that is about half the price but atmos sound with gears 4...AMAZINGComment

I have atmos speakers in my ceiling, but haven't hooked them up yet. Waiting to get my entertainment center finished.

Can you make it output atmos all the time? Sure not as good as atmos coming from the source, but should sound good.
